Are you sure people were looking at you more than normal or was it just because you felt conspicuous?

You'd look far more of a tit in horribly clashing leathers. Like neon green leathers on a black and yellow bike, for example. No offence to riders with the above colour scheme Shifty Whistle

Don't think it's an issue. I'd probably look if you rode by, but I wouldn't be harbouring derogatory thoughts.

All black leathers here - that way they won't clash with any colour scheme.

To be fair, I chuckle when i see people with full leathers and riding a 125 with L plates.

Respect for wearing proper kit, but still makes me laugh.

Don't know why it should make you chuckle, the roads just as hard regardless of the size of the bike. Personally I'd rather see people in proper gear rather than the pillocks that ride in shorts/t-shirts.

Word Thumbs Up

Nothing makes me cringe more than someone on a scooter in shorts and T-shirt with no gloves. (EDIT: Or a supersports for that matter).

I got some very odd looks yesterday putting all my gear and hi-vis stuff on next to my 100cc scooter, but all of those people were getting into their cars and I have nothing but the gear between me and the road thank you very much. I’d wear a clown costume if it was the safest gear to be in on a bike. To hell with what other people think.

Well after the rain finally stopped I was going to write how wonderful it was to have the sun shining on my sun burnt arms from saturday playing cricket and to have the gentle breeze wash over me was a great feeling today, and yes I was in just a T shirt, 3/4 length shorts and no gloves.

If I was permitted to, I would have been lidless as well.

The one big disadvantage of riding with bare flesh is that all flies and spider webs keep getting stuck and annoying you everytime you stop at lights and notice them Mad Laughing
