Hi, can anyone recommend me a rear shock at all?

Looking for an upgrade, obviously, I've heard about K-tech, Ohlins, WP etc, but looking for what people have used and any experiences.

Thanks in advance. Smile

I know nothing about suspension, but I guess it might help if you said what bike it is.

Still got the SV Thou?

Depends how much money you have and what you use it for. If you use it mostly for commuting and road stuff then Hagons are better value for money than Ohlins.

Hagon for budget, Nitron for race.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Not too fussed budget wise, and 'value for money', tbh, I'd rather stay away from Ohlins, as they're like the GSXR of the suspension world, but by the same token, Hagon seem a bit.... "budget", for me.

Definately like the look of the Nitron Shock. One I'd forgot, and will call Monday, will be Maxton.

Cheers Thumbs Up

Hagon are NOT cheapo shocks. They are a reasonably quality item, but they are road shocks at heart.

Others to consider are WP(White power), Bitubo, EMC.

Have you considered having your shock serviced?

Nope, I hadn't, can you upgrade the internals like you can with forks? Smile

To a degree yes but new oil and regassing makes a huge difference in itself. Its also possible to fit different rate springs to most shocks to better suit your weight and style.

Techoflex also do some pretty decent shocks.
