Hi, I am looking to purchase a bike over here in New Zealand and am viewing a Honda CX400 this coming weekend. I understand they are just a sleeved down CX500 from talking to a friend, does anybody know any particular things that go wrong (I have read about cam chains and the tensioner)?

What are they like to ride and what general niggles and interesting things should I look out for when viewing/test-riding the bike.

Thankyou for any help.

Maybe send a PM to Mr.Z as he's had a few CXxxxs, see his bike page for confirmation.

One point, as with any shaft drive bike (if that's what the CX400 is in NZ) is to make sure the drive splines are kept greased.

HTH Thumbs Up

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

You're in NZ? Shocked

How's it going? Is it a long term move, or are you just on a work visa with a view to coming back?
