I have managed to scrape together 5K for a new(ish) bike.

As some of you know I love sports bikes and this will be the style of bike I wish to purchase. I'm not a cruiser type of person.

I'm keeping my RF900 for commuting and bad weather and purchasing a new sportsbike for dry fun days.

My thoughts thus far are:-

zx6r
R6
CBR600RR
Daytona 675 (If I can find one for 5k (ish))
Hyosung GT650R (Big sister of my first ever 125)

Any other suggestions, words of warning, recommendations or thoughts are most welcome.I appreciate its not a life changing sum of money but I'd like to consider all options and have as much information on products before parting with what to me is still a lot of cash.

Thanks guys,

Steve

Get test rides and buy the one you like best.

Lets face it, they all (well I know bugger all about the Hyosung so let's say the first four) handle way better than you can ever hope to make full use of and go far faster than anyone really needs. So you may as well buy on 'like factor'.

If it was my money, it would be the 675 cos I particularly like the engine.

the same chioce im stuck with there except the last one. im in same situation as all bike are nearly the same but as i will only have 4k to play around with i'll have to go for something along the lines of a 2004/5 modle which may push me towards the cbr600rr as i know hondas are built like brick shit house's but i fear the performance is not as that of the rest of them so ill be test driving each one till is get the right one hopefully.

Spend £3k on a trackbike and trailer, and the rest on trackdays. Far much more enjoyment than you will ever get out of them on the road, and you wont be pushing them hard on the road, which is gonna be dangerous if it goes wrong.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I will be thinking long and hard about which bike to pick and have a number of test rides booked with local dealerships. Tomorrow I am test riding a Benelli Tornado. Not a bike I see too many of but the reviews are strong and the looks are magic.

Track days only is a no-no, my bike is my chosen form of transport and I want a bike that is fully road legal, maybe with the exception of my iridium visor and race can Smile
