My bike was stolen. Parked my bike on the pavement of my mothers house at 1pm today, put the disk lock on, came out of my mums house to go to town at about 4pm and the bike wasn't there. How happy am I. Went to the cops, talked to the insurance company, gotta wait for them to get in touch with me.

Yeah I got TPFT. They said that if the bike is recovered within 2 week's they'll fix it, clean it and give it back to me good as new. If it's not found in 2 weeks then it's gonna be classed as missing and they will get me a new bike. I think I have to pay the first £350 or something if I read my insurance details properly.

It'll turn up. It will have been nicked by scrotes to razz about on and they'll dump it when they run out of petrol. Professional thieves don't nick 125s. They nick modern sports bikes and break them for spares.

I hope for your sake it doesn't turn up though. Having had this happen to me several times, it's a better outcome all round if it just disappears never to be seen again. If it does turn up again it'll be in a shit state and will never be totally 'right' again regardless of how well 'repaired' it has been.

Would people that just wanted to thrash it around a bit really take the effort of trying to get the disk lock off?

That's a pain in the backside. Like Stinkwheel says I hope that's the last you see of it if it has been ragged about.

You will feel better with a new bike after some scumbag has been messing with your old one.

Was it the Vanvan in your sig? I always thought they looked quite cool.

Agreed! Sad as it is, considering the mental state of such bas**rds that nick bikes, best if you remember your pride n' joy as he / she was! Crying or Very sad

Sounds dramatic; was only a 125, but was your 125!

Plenty of peeps agree with that, I'm sure!

Sorry to sound harsh, but if they managed it outside your mums then it wasn't "too much effort", was it!

Get a solid chain / padlock & keep it @ mums if you don't wanna carry it around & if you visit there often.

Alternatively, hide around the corner & next time they appear use the chain & padlock for "another" purpose! Laughing

My Vanvan was my baby Sad It's just a pain in the backside having to rely on lifts and public transport for like the next 3 weeks til I get a replacement. First time i've had to deal with insurance and this kinda thing with my bike. The annoying thing aswell is that it was in broad daylight aswell.

[MODE=CHAV]
Hoi, check out that dirt bike over there. That'd be pure mental by the way.

Aye but it's go one o' them disc locks on it.

Well I'm going to chorey it anyway.
Picks up front wheel, wheels bike round corner where nobody is looking.

Gimme that hammer by the way.
Batters brake disc with hammer, shatters disc to bits

Right, now hold it while I batter the steering lock off.
Kicks shit out of handlebar until steering lock breaks, bends handlebar and smashes switchgear in the process.

Gimme that screwdriver.
Hammers screwdriver into ignition lock, turns bike on

Mind, what if the polis are looking for it?
Snaps off numberplate, snaps off sidepanels, takes screwdriver to tank so noone can read the make and model

Pure dead brilliant by the way!
Rags bike round local playpark until petrol gone/bored/engine blows/crashes badly enough to render unrideable, cuts fuel line, lights end, walks off to find another one.

Had some chavs come and scab my DTR which I'd spent a year and a half restoring and modifying. 2 months later it was found but was in a very bad way and it certainly didn't look much like the bike I'd lovingly put right. It would appear they didn't want to dump it either because they hammered off my fuel cap.

Sure enough they were not the smartest of thieves because my bike had a servo driven powervalve which closes when the bike is started and as they had taken the majority of the electrics off, it wasn't opening at it's given RPM. The result being that they only got half the power it had. Another thing which led me to believe they were not that smart would be that when they took off my engine numbers, they didn't take the right ones off. They took off the 1N23456 Laughing

And stink wheel, that description.. was spot on Karma Thumbs Up (unfortunately-as the cnuts shouldn't do it)

I had my crb600 stolen after 3 months then bought a ZX6R which was stolen after 5 weeks but it was found the next day with £3,0000 worth of damage it was repaired but it never meant as much as it used too if you know what I mean in fact I dont think I ever cleaned it after that and I sold about a year later and in the last year I only did 600 miles
