K3z, a member on here, had his bike taken away earlier as he admitted it was no restricted.

We were parked up at a petrol station waiting for someone to turn up so we could go for a rideout, and the police came over and started asking questions.

There is no doubt in my mind that had K3z said yes it was restricted, he would've taken the bike away for testing anyway, in fact he was getting ready to when K3z admitted that it wasn't in fact restricted.

Just a word of caution for you guys out there. Don't believe what people spout here, police can and will check.

His bike has been impounded.

Yet when they asked me if mine was restricted they just believed me (it is restricted anyway). Must of seen the rust and abuse and decided not to bother.

Yay for knackered bikes!.

Hmm, if I was riding an unrestricted bike on a restricted licence and the old bill asked me if it was restricted then I'd have a story ready such as 'the previous owner said it had been restricted' or some other (relatively believable) porky.

That wouldn't of helped, the officer already said that he was going to take the bike to be tested, and he knew a fair bit about bikes as he was chatting to me about my VFR800 for a bit.

Did K3z understand what the conditions of his licence meant? Part of my licence is my D1, this allows me to drive a minibus. It does not give me the right to drive a double-decker. If I wanted a full PSV I would do the test.
IMHO he chanced it and bolloxed up.

There are rules on what is allowed. Think the wording needed is a "deferred inspection".

They don't dyno all of them, a friend of mine got a band for riding his knacked 25 year old dt500, because there was no proof of it being 33bhp although it was only 40 ish at the crank when new, the cop gave him an on the spot ban.

I know it's rediculus, if I would have been stopped I would have been fine even though my bike is more than 33bhp it's ok I have a certificate.

Hell guys. Don't admit to shit like that.

I have heard of the police on only one occasion having a mobile rolling road dyno. Flat deny it isn't restricted or at least give them an evasive answer like (as mentioned earlier) "The guy who sold it to me said it was.". If on the vague chance they actually do have access to a dyno, you are going to be in no more shit than if you admitted it first off.

This for the simple reason that if they have gone to the expense of providing a dyno, they are going to bust your arse whatever to justify having it.

The chances are your mate just fell for a bluff and screwed his licence over all by himself. As I say, I have only once heard of the police actually dynoing bikes.

Frankly, if they did decide to dyno my bike, I would be demanding a receipt that the bike was in full working order before they did so, engines blow on dynos.

It's a bit like speeding. Dinnae admit to it, be evasive. The correct answer to "What speed were you doing there sonny?" is "I don't know officer, I was giving my full attention to the road ahead." If you were actually speeding and they can prove it, they'll tell you in no uncertain terms.

The question is usually an attempt to get you to admit to it. I've been stopped before and knew full well I was doing 120 at one point, I was evasive in my answer and they did me for 98.6. That's the difference between points and a ban. You bet your life if I'd admitted to 120, they'd have done me for it.

Didn't admit to riding the bike we where parked up at a garage when they pulled up.

So there is no points or Ban just show up at 1 cop shop to prove its my bike, then go to the other cop shop 12miles away and pick my baby up ( on a trailer ofc! )

Ah well lesson learnt don't sit around at a petrol station waiting for friends

when your A : not full restricted and meant to be.

and B : Around the age of 20-30 with other younger generation Razz

my 2 cents anyways we where singled out and i was just unlucky they called for backup who knew their shit about bikes.

The cops do not have the power to ban you, that is for the courts.
They can issue a statutory fine for certain offences but even then you are not obliged to pay as you can challenge the cop in court ( you will of course loose and get a bigger fine).

Dunno if its the same in England, but in court in Scotland an admission of guilt is not enough on its own for a conviction, the PF must show cooberrating evidence.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

He's going to pick it up but if he's caught on it again it's going in the crusher.

Bet me to it, thjere is no authority of any kind in the country with the power of "judge, jury & executioner".

And k3, it's not about not waiting for peeps at a stop before a meet, it's about evading the coppers questions so your not screwed on the spot Thumbs Up

As stinkwheel said, last time I was caught,. it was nighttime doing about 60 in an empty street just out of city centre, the T5 that pulled me asked what speed? I said I don't know, I was more focused on the road ahead, but I'd guess about 28, he said way over that, and if he'd of been fast(or I'd of been slow enough) to catch me on camera or point distance thing, he'd of had me. had I admitted it......screwed Thumbs Up
