A friend of mine was in an accident a few years ago, the rider was killed and the pillion seriously injured.

It was head on, the driver was speeding, on Dave's side of the road and was found to be over the drink drive limit.

I'm concerned because Dave's pillion, who had bad concussion (still having problems with multiple inputs and persistant headaches) and needed her leg pinned back together hasn't had a settlement compensation offer.

Thing is it is now three years and the driver has been released from prison. I am concerned that something isn't right with this picture.

Bearing in mind the driver was legally found to be a fault, no blame was attached to Dave's riding and certainlly not to his pillion am I right to be concerned for her?

Compensation can be years in the lines, particularly with serious injuries. I won't be getting a medical overview for 9 months and I've been told it could be 4 years before I see cash.

Are they still in contact with the solictor who is handling the case ?

The fact the other party was found guilty will have little bearing on the outcome. Its the sorting out of just what is wrong and how much it has changed their life that will be the issue.

Think it took a friend something like 5 years before his payout for having his leg crushed by a driver pushing him into the side of a van.

Main thing is they need to keep in contact with whoever is handling the case to make sure they are updated on whats going on.
