Rightyho - I've gotta do 2 websites for Uni. The first (and easiest one) is going to be a bike stats type site. The second one (which for my final project) is going to be a video library type thing.

What I want to know is what sort of things would you guys want to see on these types of site. What can I add to make them stand out a bit?

Cheers.

Nah mate, Its not actually going to be live. Mainly cos its got to include server side coding and my webspace doesn't support any. Theres no way I'm paying for it so it can stay on the Uni's internal server.

And Kev - we're not allowed to include porn. Sad

A video rental section maybe, allowing you to demonstrate a nice bit of code allowing you stock monitoring, taking orders, confirmation of orders ie on line booking etc.

You use server side include very easily but just using an include for the menu Smile

What language are they wanting/ expecting it in? database driven? etc etc?

They are both going to be database driven, I'll be using ASP.

From the little I've seen of ASP, I much prefer PHP... but then if that's what he know or what it has to be coded in, then there's little choice.
