I don't think that spindles are that expensive, but that's no excuse for that! Laughing

I'm just glad that I didn't ask for Ste's help when I changed the rear caliper bracket on the Blade! Razz

One side has a nut, and the other side is the "bolt" (i.e. the actual spindle). If there wasn't a nut one side (i.e. just a bare thread), then you could've just hammered the spindle out.

Tried that. Lots and lots of times.

The problem was the rectangular bits which slot into the swingarm, one of them was the wron way round, horizontal not vertical. So when I set the wheel alignment using that, it was wrong Neutral Exclamation Then I rode home on it... well nearly, it started eating the bearings going down the M4, and I then rode back at about 20mph through Reading to G's.

The spacer on the disk side on the wheel was stuck to the axle some how. So by cutting it off there, we could remove the axle from the bike and fix it Smile The axle and spacer were fucked anyway, so it didn't break anything which would have been useful.

Why bother to repair a dent while the engines out and everything when you can buy more blue bits with that hard earned money. And I still can't see why you'd have to saw the axle in half to get it out Confused

To be fair there didn't really seem to be any other option Neutral Laughing

The bearings were so mashed I don't think it would have come out any other way.
