basically, what happened was i was going down a road and i didnt realise there was a left turning, but apparently there was because some guy came flying out of it. when i saw him coming out i grabbed the brakes and the back locked. so i releqased the back but by that time i was at the start of the junction and another guy came out and hit me. check pics for better explanation.

bikes well buggered, forks are bent so itll cost an arm and a leg to fix, 3PO too so i'll be forkin out (no pun intended)

ive got a bit of a sprained ankle but apart from that i'm fine, just gutted it wasnt recorded, you've been framed would have gimme 250 squid for it, i must have flown about 12 foot. smacked me noggin on the floor but the lid did its job, no pain in me head at all.

lesson learnt tho: buy some boots and pay more attention to the road

Unless I missed it, you have not indicated which one of you was on the major road. Were you meant to stop, or was he? The way you phrased it makes it sound like you were on a main road and he was on a minor road, but in your other post you say you were to blame?
Did he have right of way?

Judging by the sketch it wasn't an open corner, so unfortunately it's pretty much a moment of idiocy, happens to the best of us.

yeah he had right of way, i ( in a moment of superior stupidity) didnt realise there was a road there. there was a big fence in front of it and it was only a 1 lane road so was hidden behind the fence. obviously i should have noticed it was a road but i really have no idea waht the fuck i was thinking.

I did exactly the same thing the first time out on my bike, except I was narrowly missed by a transit. I was going through this estate (The racecourse estate in hornchurch) and it has loads of crisscrossed roads and all the rights of way are different I failed to notice the give way lines and carried on.

So no road markings or signs to show a junction then ?
If not or they are hidden, then get onto someone about it.... Shocked

Looks like you timed it wrong, 9 times out of 10 you get away with it. At least now you WILL take more care and be aware of the road markings and signs warning of such things. Still at least you walked away from it and can laugh now.... Next years ins will wipe that smile away... Wink

i'm a tad confused.

so you are riding down a 2 sided road and he comes out of a 1 lane road? this would mean you were on the 'main' road and would of had right of way.

or was everyone on one lane road? if no visible markings then you have right of way as 1, you are approaching from his right (someone correct if i am wrong there). 2 he hit the side of your bike meaning you had entered the intersection first and so he should of given way.

was there any sign posts/give ways? if so and you were supposed to stop fair enough, if not or they are completely obscured, ie signs lost behind massive overgrown bushes, white lines not visible on the road, you may have a case of retrieving your loses through county council.. if this IS the case get down there and take pictures before the council hear about it and come and trim the hedges and re-paint the lines.

please re-draw the pics with, ALL road markings, sign posts etc.. i am still a bit confused about this hes on a single lane road but has right of way.

Have the headstock o your bike examined by a professional, it's possible that the forks failed to absorb all the force and that your frame is fucked, possibly in a concealed damage kind of way.

If it is fine then get thee to the breakers and pick up a new wheel and forks.

Congratulations on still being with us.

was it an unmarked crossroads, as i understand nobody has right of way, but you must approach at caution and check both directions before proceeding.........

yep, much self-scolding has pursued. i obviously was not paying enoguh attention to have not noticed the road markings, luckily ive more or less got away with it. Everyone makes mistakes, and a mistake is only a bad thing if you don't learn from it.

I'll hobble out to the garage tomorrow and get some pics up of the 'ped. and the most bruised foot ive seen in a while Razz
