Fifth Annual Hizzy Run 09 Sept 07
Join the Fifth Annual Alan Duffus Tribute Motorbike Run to the Late Steve Hislop (Hizzy).

The event will take place on Sunday, the 9th of September 2007. As before, we will meet up at Alan Duffus Motorcycles shop in Kirkcaldy. It will be a chance for bikers from across the UK to come together and remember Hizzy Hislop with the annual run down to Hawick. Last year more than 700 bikers made the pilgrimage to honour Steve and this year it is hoped to be thousands! The route is being extended and altered to take in some breathtaking roads including St. Mary's Loch. For further details check regularly our website.

Borders born and bred, Steve was inspired to race by his dad. He entered and finished second in a newcomers' race at the Manx Grand Prix in 1983, the year after his brother Garry had won it. He went on to win the 250cc British Championship in 1990 and the British Superbike Championships twice as well as Le Mans and other major triumphs.

Hislop's amazing and breathtaking speed around the TT circuit was legendary, in total Steve won 11 TT races and in 1992 he beat the future four-times World Superbike Carl Fogarty!

Hislop died in a helicopter accident near Teviothead and was laid rest in the village of Chesters near his birthplace. Alan, who was a close friend and mentor, unveiled a monument to Steve near the graveside and also gave an eulogy at Steve's funeral - Hizzy is sadly missed by all his friends and family.
