PostPosted: 13:01 - 19 Jul 2007    Post subject: My new bike!! CBR600RR Reply with quote

Just picked up my new bike today its a 2006 Honda CBR600RR. I traded in my Yamaha FZR600 for it and when I was taking it home I couldn't believe the difference between the two bikes.

I'm taking a "long" half day off work today and I'm very temped to ring up and say that there is a problem at the garage and I won't be able to make it in today. Twisted Evil

Just got to run it in now, can't wait to be able to ride properly. Anyway here are some pictures of my new pride and joy.

Do feel a little sorry for the old bike though. Sad

What was the biggest difference you found between both bikes, i went from a CBR 600 FY sports/tourer to a Zx10r and found the power the biggest factor...... Laughing

Hope you phoned in and took the day off as am about to head out too nice a day to be working.

Cheers for the comments everyone I think the camera hasn’t really picked up the colour very well as it’s not red but orange.

The biggest difference between my old bike and this one apart from the obvious increase in power is the posture. The way I’m sitting on it feels very aggressive which is kinda nice.

Also the brakes are amazing I can’t believe the stopping power it can produce and it’s also a lot easier to turn as well. Although I will have to take it easy on the new tires don’t want to push my luck yet.

No real mods planned as of yet apart I may get a seat cowl for it. I’m actually quite happy with the engine noise as well as my FZR was starting to become annoyingly loud.

I will have to take it somewhere scenic and get some proper pictures of it a bit like yours Stevie GooGs that made the “pic of the day” on bike pics.

Unfortunately I did go into work in the end but I went the “long” way to work instead. Its also meant to be raining tomorrow and Saturday.

Yeah honda parts are not cheap and if you take it to a Honda dealer its about £40 a hour labour charge grrr. If am right if you bought all the parts to build a cbr it would cost like double the price of the original bike.

Good looking bikes the RRs Thumbs Up .

Doesn't it hurt your nuts crushing them on the tank? Wink You got some serious duck feet going on there.

Could take the stickers off the swing arm to improve the looks a bit.

Nice Thumbs Up .

That's so sweet.

Have you been on any long distance rides yet? If so, what are your thoughts...

I’m just getting to know my bike better Wink I suppose by duck feet you mean the angle that my feet are pointing at?

Thanks I quite like the exhaust as it is really, I used to have a loud exhaust on my old bike but after riding for a long time it just becomes annoying so I won’t be changing it.

I went to Horseshoe falls in Llangollen on Saturday it was about 175 mile round trip. It’s the longest I’ve spent sat on that bike so far. It is surprisingly fairly comfy although with the small screen I find I have to crouch down a lot more.

I didn’t have any pains in my hands, neck, back or arse so that’s quite good I will have to take this one away to Europe with me next year and see how I feel then!
