I very much doubt they would cancel it for mud - I've seen it much worse than it was 2 years ago Smile

Same dilemma here QOS.

Do I take the Zeph which has superior luggage capacity but is tall and a bit top-heavy and almost inevitable to be dropped? Engine bars are fitted so droping on mud isn't likely to cause a huge amout of damage to the bike, but damage to my pride and confidence could be severe!

Or do I take the VS which has only done (at the moment, may change by RnB weekend) 65 miles so although it is low enough to be far more stable and less likely to drop the engine and tyres are not run in, it has no luggage capacity to speak of (not even decent bungee points) yet and it's still showroom-shiny and I hate cleaning bikes?

Or do I take the advice of a good friend who lives in the north Notts area and say fukkit and go in the car? Confused

Some 'not so good news' fresh from the RnB web site - the event IS still on however Very Happy

Quote:
"MOTHER NATURE STRIKES AGAIN"

Due to the current wet weather conditions there will be some
serious disruption to what would have been the normal RBCS.
What is usually the main arena has now been relocated within
the site, you will have never seen the show in this format.

"YOUR PATIENCE ON ARRIVAL AT THE EVENT WILL BE REQUIRED"

MOTORCYCLES - TRIKES

Firstly all Motorcycle parking/camping will be as normal but however it
will be on a first come first served basis as regards what would normally be
the bike camping fields once that is full there are provisions in place
to then Park & Camp in other areas of the site.

CARS - VANS

There is no provision this year for cars - vans to camp and park together
on the usual camping fields. As you arrive near to the site in this type of vehicle please look out for directional traffic signs for Cars - Vans and follow them to what will be a permanent weekend Car Park. Unfortunately from there you will need to carry your camping equipment to the campsite on foot. There will strictly be no vehicles allowed on to the campsite whatsoever and your patience and understanding is required at all times. Please remember that this is totally out of our control, basically everything that is being put into place is due to the weather but we will get through this if you work with us.

"Please be advised not to bring to much equipment with you"

CARAVANS

"STRICTLY NO CARAVANS WHATSOEVER"

We apologise for any inconvenience & disruption caused

If you live local to the event we advise you too find alternative transport
arrangements and not bring your car or van

More details can be found at https://www.rockandblues.uk.com as and when they occur.

Hi all

I think my new furry helmet is going to get a tad damp...

Well i know you regulars will still be coming - we all know that whatever the weather it is still great fun and a good laugh even if it is a year where most of it is spent in the camp - Remember Pirates dont fear water!!

Those taking cars (including the Hippys assistants) will be parked apart from the camp but Hippy and I will be providing lifts and carrying dutys on the blackbird when needed or Lilly (if she isnt too damp). The blackbird can carry a bungied gazebo across the back easily as there will be no road rules Smile so you can effectivley take most of what you usually do.

Please bring any spare bungies straps you have for us to use Smile

I think the weather is supposed to get better by the weekend so I guess its just to prevent the scenes of a few years ago when the ground was sodden and people didnt know how to drive the 4 by 4's they owned!

We will be taking a spare tent and sleeping bags in case it is as wet as it has been and somone elses fails and dont forget to take a complete set of dry clothes and shoes to store in one of the cars! Oh and dont forget sun lotion - God Bless the British quick change weather.

And remember bring nice warming drinks like....... like vodka, whisky, mead......

well you can forego the air beds, just mould yourself into the mud.
no point bringint changes of clothes Smile showers will be frequent and free. Smile
oh, most important, bring with you all either a good puck or a piece of floorboarding to put under your stands. I dont think crushed beer cans willbe up to the job.

were rethinking what we are packing, deffinatrely bringing the foldaway chairs. We bought some waterproof bags from aldi a while ago along with some head torches so there gonna come in handy.

I have a feeling I will be living in my 1 piece waterproofs.

Whos on about cleanleyness? (if cleanlyness is next to godlyness we is screwwed) I was maning clean dry clothes in case everything else gets totally cold and soaked! Laughing

It gives you a dry set of everything to change in to one last time before seeking shelter in the campsite for the rest of the weekend to drink!

Smile

Arse @ not being allowed cars on site, means having to put more thought into packing. Doh!

So I'll be there sometime from around midday(ish) and will tape off an area in the campsite somewhere that isn't at the bottom of any of the hills in an attempt to not end up in a flooded bit or where sliding bikes/cars will be.

Wonder if they'll let cars with disabled badges onto the site. Wink

Update on https://www.rockandblues.uk.com/

Now NO parking on site for cars or vans!! Shocked Bikes n trikes only on site...

Quote:
Due to the current wet weather conditions that is currently devastating parts of the
UNITED KINGDOM there are now some very sombre consequences affecting this event
and there's going to be some serious disruption to what would have been the normal RBCS.
What is usually the main arena has now been relocated within the site, you will have never seen the show in this format before but the show must go on and is, the stage is up and the scene is set for yet another weekend of hardcore partying. We at One Percent Entertainments 2007 have pulled out all the stops to ensure that this event is going ahead. What has taken almost 12 months to put together since RBCS - 23 as just been totally re-organised in less than
7 days and mother nature will not beat us our determination and strength is second to none. We would like to thank all our staff including their family members and all our sub-contractors for making every effort to ensure that we will come 12 mid-day Thursday 26th July "HAVE IGNITION"

But however there is a downside to anyone's plans who thought that we had secured provisions for any kind of parking other than Motorcycles & Trikes, basically the land that was relocated for parking is now not longer of use for that purpose and we now advise you to get to the nearest towns and park there and come into the event by public transportation services, there is a fleet of coaches that will run from Ripley Town Centre up to Coney Grey throughout the weekend, we apologise for any inconvenience but this whole situation is out of our control but the event goes on please come and stand defiant with us

CARS - VANS

PARKING SPACE FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE IS VERY LIMITED AND THERE WILL BE NO CAMPING WITH YOUR VEHICLE YOU WILL BE ASKED TO GET YOUR CAMPING GEAR AND WALK TO THE CAMPSITE BUT WE STILL STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO GET ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORT INTO THE AREA OR GET DROPPED OFF AT THE EVENT.
