Come one then, i need your best tips for staying awake on the bike on long journeys. Going from Stafford to Weymouth (200 miles) in a couple of hours, and even though ive tried everything I can't get any shut eye Sad

Plus i'm on the back which makes it even easier to fall asleep, as once i'm going there's no stopping me!

Just heading out to Tesco to buy shitloads of pro plus and red bull, any other ideas???

Just asked the girlfriend for some tips. She's been on the back with me from Cardiff to Skegness (Which is 250 miles) and managed to survive. Here's what she suggests:

- Keep your visor open when you're feeling tired. The blast of air will wake you up (As well as slowly peel the skin from your face)

- Keep yourself occupied. Sing, hum, pull faces at passing cars.

- Buy a Nintendo DS and a copy of Pokemon Pearl. Make sure you attach the DS to your wrist with the provided wrist strap Twisted Evil

Shitloads of relentless -> 2 cans = 1 litre of red-bull like drink and enough to make you shag like a horny rabbit even after a 200 mile ride.

Oh christ, I don't even want to think how that would end if you were to have an accident at high speeds Sick

get an intercom..

talking to each other is the best way to keep awake, as it keeps the brain occupied.

Music can make you more tired, despite the volume, due to it's rhythmic mature. Try a talking book or some standup comedy to listen to, to keep the brain active, and that will help you stay more alert.

How about good old fashioned self control? Laughing

Honestly though, if you don't want to sleep I don't see how you could nod off - especially while on the back of a bike! Do it in 20 mile bursts or something, then stretch your legs etc.

Not at all. She would drift off whilst maintaining a tight grip with her hands linked into my adjuster straps. Its amazing how the body's sense of self preservation stops you falling off. Cool

Just a theory but...

I reckon you'd have more chance surviving a crash asleep as your muscles will be all relaxed.

Umm.
I've fallen asleep on the back of Dad's Lambretta's many a time, no matter how loud the cuntish thing is.
Your body clings on. in your sleep.

Ain't fallen asleep on the ZX6R yet though, mainly due to the distorted position i sit in, and the grin on my face when it screams it's tits off and hits 150odd mph
