Hello Summy,
I need help I saw an SV650 on the way to work this morning and it looked really nice (He had tarted it up a bit) but I just wanted to know what the specs are for it?? I mean this thing absolutely blitzed me but I was wondering if restricting it to 33bhp reduces alot of the power? (is yours restricted??) Also whats the insurance like?? Any help would be much appreciated because I have seen some nice cheapies around!!!

Cheers mate! Mike.

Hello MIKEY B
i have a 650s and it is shit hot Laughing Laughing
as for the insurance it is group 10 for unfaired 11 for faired,
but prices depend on age and experience.
33bhp will readuce the power but the bike has that much torque
that it would not be that much of a drop,
there is nothing wrong with the engine,
my bike makes 75bhp Razz Shocked

Hello Mike

heres some specs that i think are the most important

70bhp @ 9k revs
120 miles a tank if you hammer it upto 150 if you dont
169kg dry
805mm seat height
Wheelies - easily

get an extra 5 bhp at least with a race can like nellys. Mine on paper is restricted but the washers never made it in the bike. I expect the power would pretty disappointin at 33bhp.

Far as the bike goes on handling i cant knock it..I've had a few minor tank slappers but i've only ever had them over 1 corner. The engine breaking was a concern when i was shopping for a bigger bike but after a couple of weeks (and a couple of back wheel lock ups) i got the hang of it.

The noise is somethin else with a race can on, its a must have accessory on it.

Its got a good insurance group. TPFT was £750 for me and considering im 18 living in salford i was expecting to pay £1000 TPO, so i was very happy with that.

Not forgettin that the bike is shit hot Razz

Cheers guys,

That is very helpful! I hadnt even considered an SV650 until this morning! and Summy I know what you mean about the noise that was pretty much all I got this morning as he disappeared into the distance!!!

I think I will definately move up to one especially as I have seen one for £2700 (not much more than I paid for the NSR!!!) Very Happy

Thanks again lads you have been a great help!!

Mike.
