 Posted: 16:19 - 26 Jul 2007 Post subject: Good Boots "required"....Sidi's? |
 |
|
Just about doing my head in with my mum nagging for me to buy some decent boots.
I would like some worthwhile boots that will last me at least 2 years or so, and I've set myself a budget for no more than £120~ but depending on quality, could vary the price I'm willing to pay.
I hear Sidi's are the way to go, and offer optimum comfort and protection. Any other brands, and any particular Sidi's that outshine the others? For example Sidi Vertigo's, how are these? I know they can be picked up for £80 in Ebay..
Will these prices give good useage and protection in return?
Thankyou for any recommendations!
Tristan. |

I've had Sidi Vertigos ever since I did my DAS in 2005, and they're still going strong - hardly a mark on 'em. I'd certainly advise trying some on in a shop first though, cos the sizes tend to be on the tight side (Mine are a size bigger than I'd normally wear).
In fact I was so impressed with the Vertigos that when the time came to get some waterproof boots for winter riding, I stuck with Sidi and bought a pair of Black Rains. ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

I can recommend the BlackRain Evo Can get them for £110 in most places and are a good all-round boot, as they are weatherproof, unlike the Vertigos.
I say weather proof, in as much as they will keep most of the rain out, but they aren't Totally waterproof, but I've never had a problem with them

I've had my Sidi Vertibras for 8years and have covered around 150000miles. Apart from a little worn across the toe and the sliders being ground off they are still in good nick. I'm far too tight to buy another pair this year. |
