 |

I took a mate out on the back of the CBR yesterday. To cut a long story short he said it was the quickest thing hes ever been on and that he must get a bike.
He understands that no 125 is going to be as fast as the CBR, But he is willing to settle for a 125 for a first bike because hes not ridden before.
His CBT is in a few weeks and he wants a good looking 125 bike for when he becomes Legal.
Between us we have been browsing ebay and ive come across a bloke in Southampton who imports these Chinese trails bikes. The engines are basically CG125 lumps, And among all the things like USD forks and wavy disk brakes I understand that at the end of the day they are cheap Chinese bikes. However, I was wondering if any of you lot have had any experience with this particular model.
Gaz will only be keeping it for about a year until he can afford to do his full bike license and buy a decent bike.
Surely being a 125 4stroke it has to be some what reliable regardless to the make. its just the build quality of the bike thats going to let it down.
But at £600 for a brand new bike, Can it really be that cheap and nasty?

I've looked at that particular model before and from what I can see it looks great, however quality of the product is going to be unknown as there will probably be no one off here who has bought that exact model. However, since it's a CG copy i assume the engine itself would be pretty reliable, the other parts however I am unsure of, I wouldn't bother ever taking it off road though as I am sure it will fall apart, so I guess at the end of the day it's a bit of a risk, please be sure to let us know how you get along, also if you do buy that bike please do us all a favour and replace that hideous front light with something else, it would make the whole bike look so much better... ____________________ I Ride: Honda CBR 400RR.

MY 125 wasn't that style or make but it was 650 brand new ad it was a "retro style Japanese custom".
It was shitty. Rusted on the warmest brightest, sunniest day and everything just falls apart. I wouldn't be surprised if the same happened to that bike.
It also ate through chains so much. I had 3 new chains in one year
They were oiled weekly and adjusted whenever they needed adjusting.
He can probably get a 20 year old CG that will last longer than that and be better.
Oh and the fact that pretty much no one will buy it after he wants to sell it.
Really wish I settled for something else. ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600
