howdy guys

stumbled across your forum and thought you can help me out

i picked this engine up from a simpleton on ebay, and all i got was "its off a honda 250cc bike"

Now it will be making its way onto my go kart, but i need to know how to wire it up, i have the little brain to go with it, and the coil, but i cant figure out how to get it to actually run...

A wiring diagram would be great, but to get that i need to know what bike it came off, here is a pic of it, it has no kick but a starter motor...

any help greatly apprietiated!

Dan K

Yep, its a Wetdream aright, probably start first time if you get it hooked up, they go forever.

https://img259.imageshack.us/img259/8379/cb400dreamot0.jpg

from looking i have marked the bits i have, but what needs ot go where to make it go? meaning the wiring from the CDI unit!

The white plug on the floor in the pic is the feed from the alternator. The Superdreams had electronic ignition, so you need to wire-up the CDI but the 400's are different to the 250's in some way since you cannot exchange the CDI's.

If you have the CDi and the coils and a battery, you should be able to get it running no problem.

Your "CDi" is actually the regulator/rectifier that does the charging.

The metal bar that goes through the coil must be securely bolted to the engine. It should actually be bolted both ends but one should get you a spark.
