Maybe I'm being stupid, but what is their correct name? My left one has fallen off, and I've started to scrape the actual peg itself, and with a trackday coming up next Thursday there'll be nothing left of it by the end.

So could someone let me know the correct name of them? (I've used peg blobs, hero blobs, footrest blobs and bank angle sensors) Even better would be if someone could show me a website I could order them from for a 99 Hornet 600.

Cheers Thumbs Up

In my Honda service manual they are called bank or lean angle sensors. Mine are gone too, but i have been thinking of putting a rounded head bolt on instead.

My right one was snapped off even before I got the bike (leaving just a stub of the thread in place)... but I've been riding like a granny so hasn't been a problem.
I'd like to get a replacement, or re-tap the hole and put a bolt in there...

@ MarkJ I've always known them as hero blobs

I've spent far too much this month on stuff, so don't want to buy any more.

If I can't find any blobs I think I'll either stick a normal bolt in there or buy some cheapo aftermarket footpegs

How about solving the problem another way?

As luke says rearsets would make sense - maybe see what the hornet cup lads use?

Also, I'd definitely have a look at your suspension set up if you haven't already. Not sure what you've got to play with on the hornet but again have a chat with some hornet cup guys about what you can do with the standard suspension as well as cheap ways to improve it.

Don't worry, I'm getting them next month (the hornet cup ones hopefully) after payday! I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't ruin the footpeg itself, as I've gotten that down on the road already when not pushing too hard, so it would have been knackered after a day on track. I've found some bolts in the garage that screw into the bottom of the peg, so I'm just going to use those I think. As long as it keeps the footrests off the floor I'm not too bothered.

Only got preload to change on the rear shock unfortunately, you can get ohlins springs and a Nitron shock for the Hornet which both apparently help, but I'm not racing it so I don't really need them. Thanks for your help everyone Thumbs Up I take it no-one knows where to buy these hero blobs then?

I'd stick a short bolt in, so the head is flush with the foot peg, then file down the edges so that nothing can easily catch.
I'm sure you can easily get sparky tit ones, but having been behind someone with them at Cadwell, I would advise against it.

Personally, I don't like bits of my bike (apart from the tyres) touching the ground and generally try to avoid it - seems to be asking for trouble, especially as circuits often aren't quite as flat as they're made out to be.

ive almost worn through my boot, even with it tucked on the peg, damn sv's and their pitiful ground clearance, didn't help i had to drop the yoke about 2 inches.

There is a touch of mallard about me Question

What about jack up plates to raise the standard rear sets? You can pick em up for 30 - 40 quid, should give you a lot more clearance Mr. Green

Indeed; and note your body position, as well - could be hanging off more Smile.
