I’ve got a Datatool vito evo on the Ninja, I came out of work on Friday and pressed the disarm button.
It disarmed as it always does but then I heard another beep shortly afterwards, so I looked at the fob and the light is flashing loads.
I get on the bike and it starts, but the bike is still beeping occasionally as if it was on service mode.
I get home and switch it off, the bike arms itself.
The next morning, the fob works but the light flashes slowly when I press the disarm button, so I read the user guide on the internet and it tells me to buy a new battery.
It worked after a few attempts when I finished work, I went to Comet and got a new battery, the fob works fine! Sorted……or maybe not.

The next morning, the fob doesn’t work at all, the lights flashing violently and eventually stop flashing altogether. The bike wont disarm.

So I call my nearest dealership for Datatool and they tell me to hold it near the system and hold both buttons….surprise surprise this doesn’t work.

So I’m now thinking the transmitter has gone (possible water damage), I need a new fob, these cost £25 new. It’s either this or get it picked up by the garage so they can have a look at it, which is Wednesday at the earliest.
Has anyone else had problems like this, and if so, what do you advise?

Thanks

K Thumbs Up

Why do you say water damage? The fobs are waterproof and have a small rubber gasket so that shouldn't be a problem unless you have damaged it.

No rubber gasket as far as i can see, just very tighly sealed with a water proof front face.

When i opened it up there was residue in there...we have had a littel rain down here Wink

Back of the fob says "KEEP IN A DRY PLACE, NOT WITH IGNITION KEYS"

It's not waterproof, I've had mine apart before.

Keep it in your pocket.
