autotrader.co.uk 'we'll guarantee to sell your bike' calls..

Anyone got any experience with selling bikes on autotrader?

I've got a bike for sale & keep getting marketing calls from people who will guarantee to sell my bike for the asking price..... for a 'small' fee...?

Anyone got any idea what the score is with these people/companies??

There a pain in the arse, I always put "no canvassers" now.

I had a bike I had just sold when I received a phone call from one, Asked loads of questions, the full details of the bike, my details and other things.

Last thing he asked was "Where is the bike"

I told him "I just sold it"

he replied, "Why didn't you say?"

. . . . . I said "Because you never asked" Then hung up.

I used to tell these people - politely but firmly - that I was not interested and that I wanted my details deleted from any marketing database they had. It always did the trick.

Telll them you are on the telephone preference service and then ask who they are...

You should be hearing dialtone before you've fninshed asking the question.

I've had them ring me when i've had cars on Autotrader - i suppose it's a bit sad that there are still people dumb enough to fall for this sort of thing.
Still, there's one born every minute.
