hi there everyone, my brigdestones are at a end now and new tyres are in order. done a trackday recently on avon viper sports and they were pretty cool however the track was quite wet.
considering i used my mates bike as well this has left me with a little dilema.
on my bike i either want to use the avon viper supersport or michelin pilot power.
i have no previous experience of michelin.
as these hoops are going on my own bike which only sees the dry (gsxr 600 K1) i was wondering if anyone out there has any knowledge of these tyres that they can give to me.
thanks alot people.
Very Happy

I've got Pilot Powers on my R6 and I can't fault them at all. Try them, you won't be disappointed. Thumbs Up

I use Michelin race tyres and they are terrible from cold. Heard from other racers that some of their road tyres are similar.
Never had a good experience with Avons either Smile.

So, personally, I'd recommend something from the Pirelli Diablo range or maybe a Bridgestone 014 (just realised you're just coming from these).

Personally, I normally use part-worn race tyres on my road bikes. If your bike is a dry-only fun bike, then some part worn Pirelli Super Corsas may do the trick - I've found them to have more grip in the wet than some touring tyres, despite not much tread.

Even if you don't want race tyres, it's still worth looking at second hand tyres if you want to save some money - I've had a very good condition rear 010 for £25 fitted before, where someone's got new tyres put on as a set.

As has been mentioned elsewhere; for a trackday, any half decent tyre will be fine.

dunno about terrible when cold but yea, not great, but being soft compound, warm up fairly quick with some side to side movement Wink

Shouldn't that be Pirelli or Bridgestone?
