Please refer to all the other million threads about buying new 125's, and the pros and cons of two stroke vs. four stroke. In short, no its not worth it, and yes it can be wheelied, but not at all easily and doesn't have the power needed.

It will do about 70-75 and is not restricted, it is supplied in full power form.

Spend £1,000 tops, and get an older 125 2 stroke, pass your test and move on.

1. It's a new bike, see all previous comments/experiences about new bikes.

2. It's a 4stroke 125 (little more power than a £300 cg125) so won't be designed to be deresticted.
Remember with new bikes you have to run them in for 1000 miles... so that's probably 1000 miles staying at under 40-50mph if not less with bugger all acceleration.

3. Yes, but you need a /lot/ of skill to wheelie 125s well. I've only seen one person doing it on a road based 125 properly, they were obviously extremely talented (as anyone who's seen the ace cafe vid will realise) and I'm sure he learned on bigger bikes.
Pretty much all bikes can be wheelied... though many will drop down straight away. The less power you have the harder it is to keep it up. With something like this you would have to get it to exactly the right heightby dumping clutch and bouncing at just the right point. Means you're a lot more likely to flip when it goes wrong.

Ok... Spend ~£800 on an older 125, and then spend a bit and get yourself a 250 field bike and leave them all standing. By going off roading etc on it as well you'll probably knock a fair bit more off the resale value on it. Do all your mates have shiney new 125 scramblers?

You're wasting your money by going new. However its your money and I don't really care TBH if you waste it. Only trying to stop people making the same mistakes I've made along the line.

try looking for an older Derbi Senda 125, i think they are 2 strokes, fairly cheap to buy (they might be VERY cheap actually) they looks pretty smart! and yes they do wheely as i watched someone wheely one out of college once.

altho i know they do a 50cc im not 100% certain if they do a 125 Confused

but senda's are cheap!

if not then an older DT125R

If you want to use the bike off road I'd suggest something like a kmx or dt125... both can be got fairly cheaply, have some power when derestricted and have fairly decent off road ability.

Do you really want to take your £2k worth of bike off road? Bigger off road bikes won't devalue so much when crashed, because it's expected. 125s will.
For everything but /proper/ off roading the cg will do pretty much everything the xr will do... apart from being a tart that is Rolling Eyes Smile.

A friend of mine has recently brought one of these,
And of course i had a bit of a blast on it.

I managed to get 72mph from it, which isn't bad for a 125 4 stroke unit.

Power is quite bland, but very relaxing and smooth, parts are cheap and they can take a beating.

Reliable, Very.
Handling, suprised me on a round about on how much grip it did have
Fun, Yes but could get bored and if your doing long journeys / motorways and fast A roads, could become tedious.
