Even faster for me cos I live about 10 minutes away from them so I can go and fetch anything I want. Razz

On another note tho - will you lot with 1Gb+ of RAm even notice any difference over say 512Mb? The reason I ask is that a while ago I decided to log the usage on my machine, and I never used over 200Mb. And I was pushing the machine at the time.

Umm, no. And varying off the logical memory path can actually slow your machine down too. By that I mean 32, 64, 126, 256, 512, 1024, 2048. Apparenly most processors take longer to allocate data to odd memory than it would take for less memory.
or something like that Very Happy

Not sure how much the RAM set me back Deano, it was my dad who paid for it. He bought the whole new pc coz he uses it for work and stuff, but I use it more than him anyway so I ain't complaining. The whole lot cost about £900-1000 I think, the majority of that going on stuff like the monitor, which was about £300 alone.

you cant have a RAID unless you've got more than two drives. One for half of the bits, one for the other half, and one for the parity bits. Smile

I assume this is overclocked?

How have you overclocked a 1700 to 3600?!

I have a 2600+, I can't get it ny higher than a 2800+, that's with a 3200+ rated heatsink and fan!

Yeah.

Well I cheated a bit, I spent £50 on the heatsink Confused Got myself an SLK900u. Still worth it for the speed increase though Smile

Some of the last XP1700's (i think the particular stepping was JIUHB) overclocked like mental. Just like the XP1800's do now-but not quite as well.
