Before you say get a bigger bike ... i cant afford one at this time....

at the moment my Honda xr 125L exhaust is a bit dodgey but ive just found out you can have a arrow exhaust for the Honda xr.

What will be the benefits of having the arrow exhaust on an XR?

Depends what you consider a 'benefit'.

If you consider being louder or having 'arrow' written on the side of your exhaust a benefit, then those.

It's unlikely you'll get much of an increase in power, not enough to be considered a 'benefit' and you've mentioned you haven't got the money to spend.

If you're short on money, I'd look at second hand exhaust. Drill out the baffles if you want it to be louder. Get an arrow sticker if that's important to you.

In the way i mean benefit is that my exhaust atm sounds very tinney and sounds Really Horrid.

Arrow written on the side means nothing really..

I just want a louder sound and bit more power then original Exhaust.

To get a reasonable increase in power you're getting to the point it'd be cheaper to sell the bike and buy a 2 stroke.

You should be able to make a standard exhaust a fair bit louder, if that's your thing, without spending much at all.

I can't understand how anyone would prefer to ride a 4t 125 over a 2t...even the 20,000mile top end rebuild on my DT was an educational and fun thing to do on a sunday afternoon Laughing

I would imagine the main benefit of an arrow pipe for the XR would be that it would last a long time.

With a pod filter, rejetted carbie and the arrow pipe you will get a small power increase.

Edd Clarke on here has an XR with a full arow system on. Sounds very nice, dunno if it does anything for top speed but its worth PM'n him for a better idea of it all.

Yes, really.

If you have an after-market loud exhaust you are also breaking the law.
The sound depends what you like; you may like it more than an arrow system.

As has been suggested, 2 strokes are perfectly reliable if treated properly. Note that if you got a 4 stroke near the power that the 2 strokes make, it would be a lot, lot less reliable than the bad reputation some people assign to 2 strokes.

For the price of the Arrow system (around £300), you could probably get a 2 stroke bike that was tatty if you were lucky.
