Right i'm in need of a bit of advice.

When buying new boots do you generally buy a size up or size down from your normal shoe size?

Cheers

If they're Sidis you'll need at least one size up.

I usually go for size 10's in bike boots.
Usually I wear size 9's everyday.

No hard fast rule about it, just personally for me the size 10s in this boot were more comfortable.

That said, my oxstars were bought in size 9s so................

Its how they feel.

P.s bear in mind the leather will give so if they feel really tight on day 1, expect after a few break in days them to have given a little.

Different brands have different sizing conventions. You should try some on before ordering any—there are no rules of thumb.

The only bike boots I have are two pairs of Sidis, Vertigos and Black Rains...
Both one size bigger than I'd normally wear

I'd say that you need to try some on first before you buy. Like it has already been said - there are no rules of thumb.

I've had Sidi and Alpinestars boots and always needed one size bigger than my shoe size. Try them on with your leathers before buying them as i bought a pair at one of the bike shows then found they wouldn't go over my leathers so they ended up on Ebay! Laughing

I always buy em so theyr uber snug cos my sidi rain eovs have plenty of padding which does get compressed.

however the vertigo's for example have less padding so I'd go for a comfy fit str8 off,

may sound silly but dont forget when you're standing on your feet they spread so feel bigger, once on the bike you dont really have the weight on them so the boot may feel loose.
