When I (hopefully) get my bike back, I'm considering getting some speakers for my bike. Partly because I want to listen to music and I've lost the last 4 hands-free kits for my phone, and partly because well, I just love having shit to show off Laughing

https://www.motorcyclespeakers.net/

$150 (which is about 70-80 quid) for 2x 50 Watt waterproof speakers and a 100W (12V) amp.

(They also have more expensive kits for more powerful speakers)

Has anyone actually bought any of these? The website claims that you can still hear the speakers at 75+ mph with open pipes.

If you do this, you will look like a wanna be goldwing rider, which is possibly worse than being an actual goldwing rider.

I think Hein-Gerrick do similar speakers, you'd have to source the amp though...

They are so gay, why . . . . just why? Everyone is going to laugh at you as you ride past playing your Hear Say album.

If you want everyone to know you're "out", just spray your bike pink.

As I said, the main reason I wanted them is because I'm hopeless when it comes to headphones and hands-free kits because I just keep losing them.

Besides, don't tell me that you don't get tired of having your headphones fall out of your ears when your trying to put your helmet on.

Wear earplugs? You won't go deaf then. If you think that you'll get bored without music, sell the bike and get a car.

Yep, and this is pretty Chav as well. The only thing that makes this a bit less Chav is that it's on a bike instead of a scooter. But it's still Chav. I know you're not a Chav, but fitting speakers to a Speedfight was an act of Chav. Wink

ColdInsomnia, just buy some clip on earphones and mould/velcro them into your helmet. Or just buy some normal in ear headphones. You'll still be able to buy 6 or 7 pairs for the cost of fitting that speaker system, and you'll actually be able to hear it over 30mph.

It's no less an act of Chav. He hath proclaimed his Chavitude! It is done. Thumbs Up

I think i'd die of laughter if I saw a bike turn up with a sound system attached.

What's the point when sitting in traffic with a lid on... Your choice like but I wouldn't touch the idea with a long long stick.

Each to their own, but I wouldn't touch that idea even with someone elses barge pole Sick

(...unless the whole bike was purposely made up to be a pi$$ take??)

Hein Gericke do do them. Priced @ £50, they do come with the amp - click on image for info.
Can only find chrome though, I thought they did them in black at one time.

Which reminds me, must get a HG catalogue.

Would be hilarious on a trackday though. On a goldie, imagine tackling paddock hill bend on a goldie, pegs down with bananarama blasting out. Cool

Get some in ear monitors, got myself a pair of Shure's E3C's. They're really impressive, and haven't fallen out to date.

Got to admit I've been tempted to do this to the Trike...

But keeping the electrics working is already a nightmare in its own right.
