Who says the CG125 is boring?...

I've had the idea floating around in my head for a while of turning the CG125 into something a bit more interesting - virtually of course, as it would be un-economical to tune or modify the CG in real life. Anyway, this is what I came up with given an hour and a half in some photo software...

What do people think? I lowered the bars, cut the tail short and the clocks and lights are from a Honda Shadow. The heat-effect on the exhaust took a fair while to get right

Anyone fancy building it for me?

Interesting idea, I like the front end. Not so keen on the ass end though, not really my thing. Great job still.

For a long time I've wondered about something like this. (Since I had a cg; eek; 10 years ago now!)
However my interpretation was perhaps a bit simpler and more utilitarian:

Also, this was based on an older style CG, which had a bit less modern shape.
Was thinking clipons - halfway between the yolks for a committed riding position. Bodged rear sets with some non-rubber coated pegs.
Probably some slightly better tyres than I had on.
A slightly cut down seat maybe.

For tartiness, maybe SANd down (and chrome?) the tank, take off some stuff at the rear and all plastics.

I think quite a few people must have ideas for the CG, after all as so many people had one as a first bike I'm sure they have ideas of how to improve it!

It's a pity that is isn't a very tuneable bike, because I would be seriously tempted to buy a cheapo but solid one off eBay and set to work on it. I'm sure even if you could get another 4-5bhp out of it and uprate the suspension and brakes accordingly, I'm sure it could be turned into a nice little toy...

Maybe I'll try it anyway at some point for a larf

I don't think they still make the Dream as a road bike, but they do make the Dream 50 R still, a load of US bike sites have recently tested it.

Right slightly off topic, what's the deal with Rat Bikes, I just don't get it...

Now I know on the other hand that you could say " Ok then what's the deal with Street Fighters " ( seeing as I like them ) but with a S/F it's all about the engineering and the time spent and the overall finish, but like I say what's the deal with Rat Bikes...

Exactly. My old cbr didn't have fairings because i crashed it, and it wasn't washed because it wasn't going to look good clean or unclean. Thats it.

Spending time and money on a bike to make it look worse just to prove a point of how much more 'extreme' you are is illogical and imo, stupid.
