me and my dad were putting his sv650 back together (rear end) after having the plastics off to paint over some rust. anyway.... all was well. we finished putting it all together then went to start it. started well but seemed to be backfiring a bit. then i turned it off and the alarm set, then went off then wouldnt turn off then the indicators stopped working Rolling Eyes . i managed to get it switched off and began investigations. the alarm fuse had blown and the indicators fuse has blown. the clocks no longer light up or show the mileage. every time i replace the alarm fuse it blows as soon as the alarm beeps to set/unset then the alarm goes off.

any ideas?! Idea

id guess youve accidentally trapped an indicator wire when replacing the plastics

I think its unlikely to be an alarm fault and more likely something you've done. Check all your work over.
