Ok, with a bit more tweaking we've now got pretty much a working chat room. If you haven't tried it yet I'd like you to go in there (link at the top of each page) and give it a go, then post and problems you have here.

If it doesn't work for you at first, try the "safe mode" link at the top of the chat page before giving up - some older browsers have problems with the normal mode interface.

Other than that, enjoy yourselves!

Works ok for me xcept when it loads it starts at the begining of the chat so I have to scroll down to see whatshappenin. Any way of sortin that?.

Could we get the emoticons in there - i cant be botheredto remember what to type!!

What about having a set greeting that it sends when you first join the chat? Would that be possible?

Just a thought I'd had for another forum a while ago.
How about an icon in the left hand side of the posts saying if the person is in the chatroom or not with a link to the chatroom.... so you can talk about what they just posted etc.
It'd probably be a fair bit of hassle but you could even have a dynamic bit so that you can 'invite' someone to chat either from a post or from the memberlist.

The first parts sounds good, having a "user is in chatroom" icon or something along those lines. Not sure about inviting people to chat though, the pm function can do this already...

Yeh, good point... the idea was that there'd would be a little script running in the background that would pop something up even if you didn't change page, but as you say there's the pm function.

i think the chat room is pretty good, ever thought about the ability to click on some1 inside the chat room and send them private pm's i.e like yahoo chat???
