Best exhaust pipe for a dt 125 r ?

Hi im thinking of buying a new exhaust for my dt is it better to get a dep exhaust or a arrow exhaust system the arrow system i was looking at is this system. Or is there any other better exhausts avaiable ?

Deps are brilliant pipes for the DT.

Not heard much about arrow, but supposed to be just like dep i think.

i had a Big One on my DT and it was ok

Arrow have always been the ones I've had recommended for my TZR. Don't really know tbh

I've got an arrow on my TDR125 (same engine as the DT)

it's very light and you can feel the difference at high RPM. But it is very thin and started to rust alarmingly quickly - the point where it comes out of the cylinder and twists around was the worst.

If you get an Arrow I'd recommend you give it a few coats of black heat proof paint or black BBQ paint to protect it.

Good pipes apart from that tho. Loud too

I don't think I can describe a more irritating noise than a Small engined Geared 2 stroke with a "race" exhaust on.

DEP all the way. If you want to stick an FMF silencer onto a DEP front pipe then that's also a good setup. Otherwise just stick with a full DEP system and you wont go wrong.

I sold my DT to my mate and he got a DEP for it, Sounds just like a motocross bike and its a good bit quicker now.

I've got a 'big one' system. (ex Fresco for all the oldies like me)

Adds loads of power, and sounds well too. Much cheaper than DEP.

Got mine as 'buy it now' off ebay.

They are all better than a std Yamaha DT125 exhaust pipe in one way or another. For looks and weight savings any of them would be a big improvement.

Id go for a well built system that gives a nice power boost throughout the midrange and top end. The best system IMO would be any one that has a quality look and feel to it, and looks like it was made to last. To this end a system that is chrome/nickel plated would be the best, and one with a sturdy but re-buildable silencer, for when the wadding becomes saturated in oily gunge.

The DEP silencer is possibly the best available in this respect, and they look good too! Id go for either a DEP or a Gianelli front pipe, as im sure that these can both be supplied in a chrome finish which will last much longer than a black or clear Laquered finish like the Arrows pipe for example.
