GSXR, but I'm biased! The gixxer is a bit quicker and I prefer rev-o-matic power delivery to the faux grunt of the baby V4.

vfr no doubt. I had one and it was faultless, fast, nimble, good looking in my opinion and so so reliable. I just got rid of my GSXR 400 recently due to its unreliability. Carb problems were no end, however saying that it looks the dogs and rode really well when it worked.

A mate had a VFR that jumped between 5th and 6th under load, this was about 8 years ago when they were in better nick. Bit more serious than a few carb o-rings, had to have an engine swap!

For me it's the VFR400, but as with other posters in this thread I'm biased. I honestly love the style and looks of the NC30 and it's a big factor in why I chose that particular 400. Really fallen in love with the V4 too, and I think I'll miss it when I get my next bike which is likely to be a Jap inline 4.

yeah mate, i owned a gixxer 400, absolute screamer of a bike, aggresive riding postion over the bars but impossible to drive slow, u'll be redlining the bitch everywhere, and i mean everywhere..

had a race can so the noise was insane.
Had only 6000m when i seized the fucker , put it flying down the road on it's side and it shat its guts all over the gutter..

i got a RVF at the mo, body work begining to fall to pieces , some elec probs but still very smooth, handling is the bollocks.
I always preferred the IL4 but the V4 is a beauty,. once u go v4 u never go back !!!!

probally better for a everyday bike and as 400's are getting old now, hondas a better call

i used to have a vf400 (the older bro to the vfr) and a zx4 and a gsx400 the vf400 was by far the most reliable and sounded the coolest, but the gsx and zx4 were faster.
if i was going to get a 400 again i would go with the vfr

I had a GSXR400, but was afer an NC30 at the time as well. The GSXR just fell into my lap at the right time and the right price. It was brilliant. Never had any problems with that bike.

ill go for the GSXR bein as i have one. mines restricted and is still pretty nippy for only 33bhp. was great when i had it unrestricted for the first minute or so. many of problems followed this though so theyre back in now

If you're comparing a GK76a and an NC30 then I'd vote for the gixxer; it's got better handling. The VFR's bottom-end grunt would be negated on the track by the gsx's faster throttle response.

Although I could be wrong.

had / got em all. and to kill two birds with one stone here.
NC30 v GK76a - well i liked the GSXR, the motor was great and it went well up top. loved to rev. handling when on its side was quite planted, midway felt a bit odd. very see saw like ride due to the poor suspension at both ends and wooden brakes. starting the GK76a can be problematic. carbs wear quickly, if compression is low then its a cow to start. carb springs can be replaced which helps.

NC30 v NC35 - the rvf is easier to work on, to ride i prefer the rvf, its a tad gruntier but flatter up top. handling is good as are the brakes, however unless the NC30 is clapped out you would be hard pushed to notice much of a difference on the road. the NC30 is stronger up top and the build quality is quite a bit different too. get a good NC30 and a good RVF i would still choose the NC30 as i prefer the motor and looks tbh - but i do also have a RC30 too and the sight of them both together can arouse any true biker of that age / era

hey i test rid my nc30 the other day and boy was it fast compared to my cbr125 but will that drasticly change when i get it restricted? like will it go 0-60 slower etc

GSXR400 as i own 1 had it for about 6 months now (longest ive ever owned a bike) and i still love it! reliable as FOOK! i do 50+ miles a day every day been through 2 rear tyres as it eats them and i rebuilt the carbs (orings pins etc)
never had a vfr but i have had a lil race with 1 and 0 to 60 i kicked its ass!

though thee vfr looks tasty with its single sided wheel ive had bad luck with hondas so will never get 1!

gixxer all the way!!!!!!!!!!
