I still can't believe I bought it. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

As always I was only passing the showroom and decided to pop in for a quick look.

It had nothing to do with the Yamaha roadshow parked up out front or the Bike Trader girls hanging around in hotpants Shocked

Evil or Very Mad

Can not believe it Evil or Very Mad The bike will not be ready until Tuesday now!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

How pissed off am I!? Mad Mad Mad Mad

Apparently I was

'meant to phone them with the reg of my trade in before anything went any further!'

If someone had told me to do that don't they think I would have done it!? And why didn't they call me, like they said they would! Mad

Also

'The SP needs to go through the workshop, then be MOT'd but they haven't had anyone in the workshop until today due to other commitments!'

Told me they went on a track day Monday and sent their technicians on a Yamaha training course for three days!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

So now I have to take my Kawa over to them tomorrow for them to look at! Mad Leave it there (because I cancelled my insurance as from midday) then wait three sunny Very Happy days until Tuesday (when it's due to rain! Mad ) then it's back to work Wednesday Crying or Very sad

Just keep it till the Tuesday as long as you are insured.

But yeah, still sucks...

i was gutted when my CBT was put back to an evening course and I had to wait a day longer. Smile

I took the 7R over this morning for them to look at, after finding out that the battery had gone flat over the past five months without use stuck in the garage! Mad

I walked in the showroom only to find my SP hadn't even turned a wheel from where I left it last Saturday! Mad Mad

They took my bike in the garage and after around thirty mins they came out of the workshop and said there was a couple of things wrong with it:

1. Battery flat (I explained that the bike hadn't been seriously used in five months so with the alarm this should be expected!)

2. Slight grazes to the side fairing decals (which was there when I purchased the bike in January!)

They said the bike was price quoted on the description I gave last week and that these faults would reflect in the price. They mentioned 'misdescribed as great condition by yourself' when what I said was 'good' condition.

This all happened thirty mins before my insurance was due to end (at mid-day!). So the pressure was on Evil or Very Mad

An argument ensued where I stated the fact that they said the SP would be ready today and asked why they hadn't contacted me with a progress report Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

This is when the main man started to really piss me off Mad Mad

'We did call you and we left a message.' Yeah yesterday after I'd called them first.

'What number did you use'

'Your mobile number!'

'That's funny, I only left you with my home number!!'

'But I was stood behind him when he made the call' 'Now do you want the bike or not, it doesn't bother me. I will be more than happy to give you your money back and roll your bike into the van and take you home if your that worried about your insurance!'

This is when I felt like telling him to stick the SP where the sun don't shine but his wife (or peacekeeper as I like to call her) cut in and calmed me down as he walked away.

'How much is this going to cost then?'

'£130 for the decals and £79 for the battery.'

I thought for a second...................looked at the SP................looked at the 7R....................looked at the SP and thought

'God that Honda looks nice'

and paid the money.

I then thought fook 'em, walked over to the SP and went over the bodywork with a microscope.

'The front fairing has a small crack in it where someone has overtightened the fastener..............I want it repaired! The front has stone chips in both the fairing and mud guard.............I want them touched up!!'

'Ok, we'll get it into the body shop on Tuesday, then get it through the workshop and then get it MOT'd.'

'When can I pick her up?'

'Towards the end of the week, when's best for you?'

'Any night or weekends'

'We'll be in touch!'

Yeah sure!!

Getting wound up just writing about it.

The GF (who followed me over) said tell 'em to stick it there's more than one SP out there! She said that she would have blown a gasket if it had been her and can't believe how calm I was.................................................if she only knew Mad

I really must go and calm down now............................in hind sight it was a conundrum of errors......................just gotta look forward to picking her up next week sometime Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I'd have told them to stick it. Thing is, if anything goes wrong under warranty you just know its going to be a battle to get it sorted.

Then again I know what its like when you've fallen for a bike and you just <little britain voice>'want that one' Laughing

I thought about that a lot last night. The smallest problem with the SP and it will be going straight back, trouble is not much goes wrong with them Laughing If it ain't done then a snotty letter to Yamaha UK may get things moving..................................but that's the last resort.

Actually fell for this bike five years ago when I first saw Edwards riding one, since then it's been a gotta have one. Mr. Green

I've calmed down an awful lot since yesterday (major dissapointment put me in a bad mood before I'd even stepped into the showroom! Embarassed ) and even contemplated driving over this morning to smooth things over Confused

Just gotta look forward to picking her up..........................that's all I'm thinking of at the moment Very Happy
