Hi. Shamelessly stolen from another forum , but lets see if we can get a list of stuff you think is uber overrated and the reason why.

I’ll start.

Mercedes Benz - Over engineered , personally find that Merc’s were far more reliable in the early 90’s than the current era, probably down to these crazy elecro gadgets.

London - Overpopulated , overpriced and unfortunately arrogance , vanity , and ethnocentrism are rife in the big smoke. Finding a decent Londoner is almost on par as spotting a blue moon or finding rocking horse shit! Silence

Eastern European Ladies - No where near as attractive as people make them out to be, I mean don’t get me wrong there are some absolutely stunning ladies from the eastern block, but I don’t think that they are these goddesses as so many people make them out to be. Kinda like when someone says there is a new polish woman starting at there work place, oh oh she must be fit she is from Poland. What’s wrong with women from West, North or Southern Europe. Never really seem to get the same recognition , well except Scandinavian women. Wink

America - Big buildings , big cars , big people. End. Felt quite disappointed after years of wanting to visit the States and was let down, just didn’t live up to my expectations.

David Beckham - Overpaid , overrated. Good at taking free kicks, that’s about it. Speaks like a 13 year old lad who’s bollocks haven’t dropped yet and he is in his mid 30’s. In actual fact listening to him speak you get the feeling that a 13 year old has an higher IQ than him.

Football - 22 men who, on average get paid 100k+ per week for kicking an inflated pigs bladder around a grass pitch for 90minutes……really hard work isn’t it boys, all that kicking around and jumping on the floor like big poofs really does damage to those fingernails doesn’t it. Rolling Eyes

Lord of the Rings - Never really understood this massive following of a few hobbits with big feet walking around New Zealand trying to find someone’s wedding ring. Not my cup o’ tea.

Harry Potter - Same as LOTR really, don’t understand the big fascination people have about a teenage wizard. Although Hermione Granger is fit! Cool

Princess Diana - Millions of people mourned when this woman died, why?! Go highlight a few charities then come home and get wed in a half a million pound wedding dress and eat a buffet that had enough food to fed Ethiopia?! Confused

My parents love everything to do with America. They're en route as we speak to their umpeenth holiday there. I can't see the appeal myself. Way toooo humid for me.

Agree. Football. Can't stand the game or anyone to do with it (Gary Lineker is vaguely amusing in the crisp adverts though). Sorry if that offends football fans out there, but I really can't tolerate the game (*Trixie waits to be flamed*).

Me neither. I tried watching the original film but it bored me senseless. I ended up turning it off.

Dan, consider an "agree" Karma from me Smile

I'd consider the following to be overrated:

1. Big Brother/Reality TV
Again, I apologise if I offend people, but I really can't see the attraction in watching the brainless morons/wierdos/attenion whores/Z-list celebrities in the BB house/jungle/fat farm, etc. I could go to my local pub/psychiatric ward and see the same thing if I wanted. I choose not to, and don't want this crap beamed into my living room. Ch4 is a no-go area for me these days.

2. "Celebrities"
I'm not talking about geniunely talented people who happen to have become famous because of their job. I'm talking about those people that are famous for some reason other than talent, such as shagging someone famous or having a rich relative (Paris Hilton? Abi Titmuss?). Stupid people look up to these idiots. It makes me very despondent.

3. HP Sauce Adverts
Hve you seen that advert full of idiotic fools? You know, the WAGs, the hen party, etc. That's apparently what's Britain is meant to be today - full of chavs, if you believe the advert. Oh dear.

I could stand on my soap box all night, but I'm feeling tired and I've had too much wine, so I'll step down now...thank you for humouring me!

Being overrated.

The internet

Vastly overrated - go and read a book instead, or even *gasp* do outdoor pursuits.

Like, really, it matters what someone thinks who you've never even met, and probably wouldn't even like.

Yes, its a great resource, even if Wiki has been infiltrated by the CIA and dodgy teachers from Oop Norf who ride funny old motorcycles.

We all spend far too long on here than we should.
Its a sunny day, the first rainless day for probably a month - during summer.

And here we are, reading the words of another person who has got nothing better to do.

Actually, I have an excuse: I'm working, making money.

Laughing

IQ has nothing to do with age. I should imagine many 13 yr olds have higher IQs than him. I almost certainly did, racking up a 145 in the cats tests, though those are bollux. A monkey could fill in a multiple choice questionnaire and come out with a decent score.

Anyway, overrated:
V-tech
Mustangs
Marmalade
Cornflakes
The honda CRX
Horse racing
F1 drivers
Queen
The Queen
Johnny Depp
Ferrari
Natasha Kaplinski (or however you spell it. I'm not gonna go to the hassle of googling it).
