I am riding up to Hartside Pass near Penrith, from Blackpool tomorrow, no doubt the roads will be full of Sunday drivers and tourists who don't know where they are going. These are the most dangerous type of people on the road in my experience

I can see why, but it's a bit odd. Plus, T.C's posts scare me. I'm still worried like hell about my chain til I can afford to replace it, and need my bike to earn cash for the chain. Catch 22.

Stop worrying about your chain. 20 odd years on bikes and I've never had one come off. As long as your happy that your looking after it then it thats the best you can hope for.

I got knocked off my bike by a pigeon. Doesn't mean it'll happen to anyone else.

As for the chain, I can't help it, I've noticed every movement it makes as I make any progress. I'm getting really bad and there's nothing I can do.

The Air Ambulance seems to have been like a taxi in and out of Harrogate District all day today. No idea if any of them were bike related, but the sunny weather does seem to increase the frequency
