FOR SALE

Honda NS125R-K
Mileage: less than 16000
Year: 1989-90 on a G reg
Colour: Red
TAX'ed: Yes
MOT: Yes

I've just passed my test (again), and now looking to get a bigger bike, so this little 2-stroke is up for sale.

So, what have I got here, well, it's a 125cc motorcycle, she runs well. It will make an ideal bike for a learner that's been on a bike before and has a good sense of the road. 2-stroke motorcycles have a tendency to be very powerful in low to mid range on the RPM and can pull away fast, they are also easy to flip if your not to careful, so you need to be a little gentle with them.

The bike has had new brakes (front and back) fitted, new throttle cable, new drive chain, new ignition and petrol cap, new spark plug, new exhaust gasket. Front forks have also had new seals fitted. Tyres are in good condition.

The bike also has an alarm / immobilizer fitted (Selca MT8 Thatcham approved).

I've had the bike since July 2003, it's been looked after in that time. The fairing has some small scars (but not done by me, as I have not dropped it in the time that I have owned it). The seat will need to be re-covered, it's a little bit tatty now for it's age.

I have only used fully synthetic 2-stroke oil in it, new gearbox / clutch oil just been done, along with brake fluid for front brake.

I will also throw in the Workshop manual that I have.

Pic's can be seen by visiting the following link (please add the file name to the end of the link -- P1010008.JPG - P1010029.JPG (21 pictures))

https://www.nist.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/bike/P1010008.JPG to P1010029.JPG

What am I asking for the bike ? A sensible offer would be good ! I do know that a bike like this can make as much as £1500.00 in this condition, but I'm not asking for that, any sensible offers over £600.00 would be great.

Location -- South London

Could be done through Paypal possibly - though it would involve a fee.

I used to have the white version of it - My mate has it now and its still going fine.

Ring your credit card company Laura, they should be able to transfere into a bank account if you gave them the number.

Some of them will send out cheque's too.

Dru,
Do you remember my post about my NS125? (I think it was "your history of bikes" or something.)

My NS would wheelie in second gear when it reached the powerband!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Confused Confused Confused Very Happy Very Happy

Its only because its got a viscious powerband.

Confused Confused Confused
I am having serious trouble believing this. In my experience 125 sports bikes will wheelie in first off the power if you give them a bounce, but in second just off the power???? My R6 only just comes up in second off the power without a bounce. I spent quite a bit of time trying to wheelie the vfr you previously owned and that wouldn't come up in second without using the clutch. Are you saying the front lifted on your NS just from coming into the powerband? Imho the danger of flipping a 125 is pretty non existant unless you are trying to wheelie it.

My point exactly, its powerband cant really be any more agressive than on an NSR, the NS is a 'bit' lighter but not enough to make it wheelie in 2nd off the power IMO. The storm only just gets up in second so i dunno. There was never any danger of flipping my nsr and i dont see how there would be with an NS.

It didn't wheelie much, but the front definitely lifted when it hit 7000 rpm. It did pretty much the same in first. (It helped to have almost no fuel in the tank, the tank capacity was quite large, it took fifteen quids worth whereas the Triumph will just about take a tenners worth.)

It did have a Micron full system with expansion chambers and I *believe* it was stan stephens tuned. Honestly I've never ridden anything with as sharp a powerband as that bike. Smile

Dont all 2-stroke full exhaust systems have expansion chambers? Razz

How far do you reckon the wheel would come off the ground then?

My dt50's front wheel would come a couple of inches off the ground if I hit a bump in the power band with WOT. I'd hardly call it a wheelie. Are you saying you had to be careful not to flip your NS?

in second? certainly not more than a couple of inches. And I think these were *different* to stock expansion chambers. I haven't owned the bike for five years or something - I can't remember very well. I just remember being shit scared when I had no steering control when it hit 7000 rpm! Maybe it was just bad luck and I happened to be timing my clutch action with the engagement of the powerband.

Dunno Really.
