Go on then who's going to criticise him.

I know plenty on this forum have done the same if not faster.

There's criticism from Brake etc, but was the road quiet or busy. If he's done it at 4am on a deserted road, then I have no issues what so ever.

Probably just thought, no one about, quickly max it out and slow it
down and just got caught.

Putting other peoples lives at risk is a no no, but if its your own....

He'll probably go down, he wears a suit, drives a porsche. He's
obviously a major risk to the public.

if you are using public roads, its never just yourself that you are putting at risk

other road users arent going to expect something approaching at that speed

this can lead to problems

If it was a 911 turbo then it'd happily do 172.

Don't know if this is the same guy, but there was something reported before about some guy who was driving a customers car from the garage he worked at and got stopped for speeding and for taking the vehicle as well.

The road it was on happens to be a nice straight dual carriage way, should do things like that late at night when there aren't speed traps around. Razz

My dad stops people who are banned drivers every other night for speeding and of course driving while banned.

Nothing ever happens to the repeat offenders.
This guy is working, tax paying member of the public, and as has been said, he will probably do time for it.

I was racing with a Porsche the other week on a motorway. I did well until we got to 130mph. Then I hit the limiter and he smoothly breezed ahead. Laughing

"The speed is thought to be the highest recorded in the UK for such an offence"

We can't have some twunt in a Porch taking all the glory. There must be some Hayabusa/ZZR1400 riders who can wipe the smile off his face Mr. Green

Im a bit jealous. On the up side, hes an ugly fucker, so I guess in this case, things balance out.

Those turbo 911's do have plenty of poke. Was trying to keep up with one last night on my ZR-7s. I managed till about 120, after which I gave up because the front end was becoming a bit too twitchy for comfort.

Like others mentioned, he'll probably get 4 to 6 months behind bars plus a substantially long ban, just because he otherwise seems to be a decent citizen. If he was a chav, a thief or a serial offender, he would probably get away with just a slap on the wrist.

It just goes to show the state of the justice system, when there are two reports on the same day's news; one of a footballer getting 4 months behind bars for trying to avoid a speeding ticket by giving a false driver, and the other of a convicted multiple offending pedophile who raped babies gettting away with just a caution. https://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article2317335.ece
https://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article2323068.ece

I'm not saying that the rich shouldn't escape justice, but with all the overcrowding in jails etc, who deserves the sentence more? I wonder how judges sleep at night, after reaching verdicts, which offend the sense of morality and justice of even the most forgiving of people.

It has. There was something when he originally got arrested and it's now back in the news as it's in the courts now.

if you sort out your career properly a 911 is entirely possible Stuart A , a former employee of my old company started working for H at 17, he left last year at 31 and stole 40% of the clients , whenyour company turns over 10mil he stole effectively 3million worth of clients and 2 staff,

as said I'm at least 6 years behind his career plan plus my accounting body doesn't let me steal clients on risk of losing me membership and thus practicing cert things.

They really do live in their own little bubbles don't they? There are lots of people that have got over 170 on public roads, they just haven't been caught.

The speed is irrelevant, the car is irrelevant, the point is doing that speed on a public road is putting everyone else at risk who's around, nobody has that right in life. If the road is clear, and the condition's are allowing, any speed is fine but as long as if your not be able to control the vehicle, then you only take yourself out because at them speeds, there's a very slim chance anyone would make it. I know Richard Hammond survived higher but that's a different kettle of fish.

I've done over an indicated 130 as pillion but there were no others around except a Subaru, which was pulling quite a lead. Should the rider have lost it, there would only have been me and him injured. Which you know of the risks when you get on a bike.

What's so shocking and horrific about it though? He's only minding his own business until the busy body safety nazis step in because he WILL hurt himself and it's up to them to save the day.

we dont care about him hurting himself

just about him hurting other people

I used to ride with someone who would ride like a tit most of the time. I was more annoyed about the possibility of him hurting someone else (possibily me).

But although when he did kill himself, no one else was hurt at the scene of the accident, I thought at least no one else got hurt.

But of course they did because he had a family. The pain on his dads face at the funeral was horrific, and wasnt much better a few months later when i saw him at a bike meet.

I occasionally ride like a tit, and one time i got caught, and one of the coppers was one of the ones who had attended my friends accident. He told me about it as a cautionary tale, and I didnt mention that I knew the bloke in the accident.
