Probably end up the same route as the review section.

Was thinking of a how to section where you can post about how to do various things, whether it be riding techniques like wheelies etc, work on the bike. Buying and selling properly....

Frequently asked questions isn't how to.
I hate using the search function for certain things, and yeah the questions sometime become tedious. But a how to on certain riding styles, stunts etc... would be good i think.

Could also be used for guides to cleaning.. servicing.. rebuilding engines.. changing chain/sprockets.. I think that'd be a pretty handy section all in all.

That's the sort of thing i mean yeah....

It's hard trying to get exactly what you want on the search.
I wanted a wheelie thread and have to sit there reading loads of tosh before reading anything worthwhile.

Yeh thats true, but I imagine there would be a lot more people posting guides if there was a section to put guides in?

Tried it, but only about four or five members ever wrote anything, which meant about ten or eleven articles on pretty much the same stuff.

Been there, done that.

Maybe if you pro-FAQ guys 'put your money where your mouth is' so to say, by writing some guides, you'd have an argument for bringing it back.

Yeah, but there's fuc* all in it.

IMO the how to section would be handy.
As it gets more popular it might turn into something else, some questions asked by members could be directed to this new section.

I think the best thing would be that members that have written something before which nobody remembers (due to them disliking the search function or being too new) could link their thread into the new section.

So we need to put stuff in it!!!

My point is, I think creating a whole new section is overkill, when the workshop is the ideal place for that stuff.

For non-mechanical 'how-to' s (like wheelies) perhaps a sticky in general bike chat?

There are enough sections as it is, any more would be irritating imo.

A lot of the sections on my settings are not shown because i don't need some of them...makes for a less crowded screen. Stickys would be better i guess, some threads on non mechanical could go in there...it's just harder as a sticky for it to get noticed or to be used.

It would be nice to have a guide section with stickied topics. Im fed up of "how do i derestrict my NSR/moped/etc etc" and "how do you adjust the chain" repeatedly.

Oi!, How DO I de-restrict my NSr? Confused Laughing

And this might sound pretty stupid, but what use a "how to" on stunts in the workshop section, I figure that's where you post to fix after you mash the bike, but..... surely general bike chat or show & tell would be more appropriate.? Thumbs Up
