Back to the UK soon pricing up some bikes and insurance woes

Looking at a few bikes back in the UK and decided to try and get a few quotes.

k6 GSXR 750 - £1900 tpo (eBikes quote £4,233.99)

01 GSXR 750 - £1327 tpft

00 TL1000r - £1500 tpo

For a laugh I thought I would try my old scooter and they still wanted £950 tpft Even my old RF they want over £1000 for.

I even lied on some quotes and said I was 21 and turned up the same results for the bikes above. (I'm 21 in feb)

But yet I can get a quote for a 1999 Impreza Wrx - £ 400 tpft .......

I have tried Bennetts, eBike Insurance and according to confused.com rider age and lisence type is only valid for 50cc (full UK)

So who are the cheapest to use I know I will have to phone around once I'm back a few names and experiences with companies would be nice

I don't understand why you're getting such stupid quotes. Most of the quotes I've had are fairly reasonable and I'm younger than you.

I was going to say go for smaller capacity and 'non-sporty' bikes but if they still want loads to insure a ped then there must be something wrong somewhere

I pay about £150 tpo for a 1990 RXS100. I'm 19, no bike NCB, on CBT, kept outside, etc.

Been quoted £220 tpft for a '93 Bandit 400, £350 tpft for a Bros 400, £600 tpft for a Bandit 600, £300 tpft for an '89 RGV250, and loads more at fairly reasonable prices for small-ish bikes, with one or two exceptions.

Edit: Just tried a '00 GSXR 6, it came up with £1124 tpft. Maybe keeping away from sports bikes might be a good idea.

Recently my lil brother, and 2 of his mates have passed their car tests, when I did each o their insurances, FC was a good few hundred cheaper than TPFT and TPO! Must have something to do with new riders/drivers maybe?

Is it anything to do with the fact you've lived outside the UK recently? They ask you that when you get a quote, so must be a reason, maybe they're scared you'll end up riding on the wrong side of the road
