Still pondering over my next bike, having had a bandit and a buell in the last year, I want a bike thats gonna stay with me for a while now. Was settled on a 900 hornet, would love a z1000, but cant afford one, so am wondering about a z750, but wonder if Ill get bored of it quick. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Does any one know the spec details for a 05 plate? HP, Torque, etc?

Thanks in advance.

About 105hp at 1100rpm, a very nice bike. I have an '04 in black with the kwak replacement screen like the thou, and I can't call it on anything really except it's a bit vibey on the motorway.

a Z750 is very capable very torquey and I got ambushed by tons of them in France.

surely a slightly older Z1000 is not that much more than an 05 Z750. definately worth the extra if there is any!

I recently bought a 05 z1000, she'll be my bike for the forseeable future, well worth the extra few pound, and it was just a little extra, I found mine on www.onyerbike.net went and had a look, thought about it, cos they had a few z750's as well, and thought may as well go for the thou as she'll last longer. lol
Glad I did, as Akira said, a little vibey at speed, but nothing else i can fault her on.

I had an '06 z750 my first proper big bike. It ticked every box for me. Quick without being scary, nimble, rode through the winter with minimal fettling, sounds great. Eventually like all nakeds it became wearing on motorway commutes so I chopped it for a faired bike. Suspension is basic but you either ride accordingly or upgrade.

Don't go for the s version..... the seat is like a lump of granite.

All in all a great bike for the money.

I would have had a 1000 myself, but I found without a garage I couldn't insure one reasonably so I made do with the 750 which cost about half as much to insure. Now with 1yrs NCB I'm paying £14pm for tpft on it.

wait hold on I remember a chat in Italy about the Z750s , they have a tiny long range problem in that the seat angle isn't good std, in that as every male biker knows you should NEVER sit flush with the tank in case you have to brake very suddenly (its how you can tell women apart from men who ride bikes if its not patently obvious). added that the fairing isn't fantastic the wind on your head sort of also rotates you into the tank balls first.

The angle is supposed to be pretty steep such that you have two options, either keep sliding down into the tank and thus crushing your balls,

constantly maintain a grip onthe tank with your thighs/knees which can be tiring over long distance,

or buy a new seat/change it.

Get it! Ive read many reviews on it and ride one. To be honest it vibrates and the suspension is average. All this talk about the seat being to hard i think is a bit stupid, although i do carry extra padding in that area.

power is about 107BHP i think - although mines restricted. Basicly theyre a good bike. Pretty cheap and a lot of fun. Apparently derestricted ones are wheelie machines aswell.

Hope this helps. Thumbs Up

I haven't found this at all in almost 5000 miles of mixed riding and I have MASSIVE balls. The seat is just a bit hard for the first 500 miles, till you get used to it.
