Hi

I hate to think, and (thank god) I suspect I couldn't work it out even vaguely accuratly.

20 years insurance is hideous enough on its own.

All the best

I buy MCN pretty much every week. For the last 20 years. Say average £1.20 a week, so £60 a year, and overall £1200.

It adds up quickly.

All the best

I've got off pretty lightly I think:

CBT: £110
Bike: £250
Insurance: £150 odd
Tax: £15
Lid: £40
Goggles £20 (x2 = £40)
Jacket: £40
Gloves: £10
Waterproof trousers: £10
Spark plug: £1.20
Speedo Cable: £8ish
Lock: £5
Theory: £28 (I think)

£557.20 in total, not including 2t oil or petrol.

Probably going to cost me about £600 for my next bike plus £200-300 for insurance, plus the cost of the test and any lessons I decide to take.

A lot, but then at the moment I've still got a reasonable amount of assets. No where near what I've spent of course - at the end of last year I reckon I'd spent about £20k on racing alone over two years.
Ever worse if you add in the vans and other sundry racing and general bike-related expenses.

Wow, never really thought of this. Bikes alone would prob come to £10k new. Prob try and add it up tomorrow.

Suppose I justify it that I can't afford to buy a house in this country now so may as well spend the money on bikes.

Can only do this year cos seriously has costs £10,000's.

CBR900RR - £1300 in January
ZX10R - £6200 in April
FC ins - £140
Tax £35
Some Genuine Kawasaki Leathers, bought from my mate £15! Mr. Green

Other leathers - £45 - eBay
Boots - £25 - eBay

Seat hump & paint - £50
Scoprion Can - £80
Harris Bracket - £20
DB screen - £30
Mirror Blanks - £10
Stainless Link pipe - £35
Sprint damper - £140

Front paddock stand - again off my mate - £3! Mr. Green

Fuel in the ZX10R, about £300

Totaling - £8428!!!! IN 8 MONTHS! Ouch! Shocked

But I did flog the blade for £1000 just before I bought the ZX10R! Thumbs Up

In the last 6 years since living at our house now, Ive had a YZF750, that I had to change from a race bike back to road - cost a whack.
Then a ZXR750L1 - just cleaned it up, got bored -

Got a ZX9R - wrecked - left outside, had to totally strip and build from ground up, new bearings to new grips, new everything.

Then road a couple of times and swapped it for a ZX7R, + half a bike - in pieces again so built up another bike, flogged it and bought the blade at the top!

Between which I had a FZR600 trackbike & a husqvarna CR500 (70's 2 stroke animal!) Laughing

Shocked

Been riding 20 years - so say at least £5k per year - £100k! AT LEAST! Shocked

around £11000 in 2 years (altough £4400 is 'yet to pay' interest free credit and -£1200 PX on old bike) so real spent to date £5400 minus petrol.
