That is one phat bike.
Bet it sounds the bomb through the Akro's
I'm seriously thinking of selling my ZX7R and DRZ400 to fund one of these. What bike did you have before? If it was a 4 cyl sports, how much different is this to ride?
I only got into biking to buy a phat sounding grunty V twin, and so far I've had 3 four cyls Kwaks and a 400 single crosser!
I think the time has come to cross to the dark side, but I don't want a bike that I think I couldn't handle.
Do you find it comfy? I've read a few articles that say they ain't comfy (But I ride a ZX7R and find that fairly comfy for a sportsbike)
Sorry for the interragation, but I really want to purchase one, but need a little convincing!! (Please convince me!) ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

Funny enough I traded in my ZX7R for this
I'm 6' 2" and find it more comfortable than the Ninja
Finally managed a few miles on her today and all I can say is.....................................WOW
The difference between a V-Twin and straight four is amazing, I doubt if I will ever go back to a four again!
One thing I find is that where I would happily trundle around say a turning into a road in 2nd on the Ninja I need to drop it down into 1st on the SP, the pulsing of those huge pistons make it harder to ride in these situations but not impossible.
I heard, like yourself, that the SP would be uncomfortable and impossible to ride around town, THIS IS POPPYCOCK! I went out for around three hours today, in and out of Lichfield and Tamworth (30 and 40 speed limits) and felt more comfortable than I ever did on the Ninja. Slow speed maneuvers take a bit of getting used to (about half an hour lol) but I found that slipping the clutch with a bit of back brake, U turn style, made them very easy.
In my eyes you can't do much better than an SP, the noise and torque will have you grinning like a cheshire cat all day. I had more looks from joe public in three hours today than I ever did in twelve months of Ninja
But the decision is up to you |
