Why oh why are all these cars (and lots more) being given a fine.

Well here's the answer

At first when I got there, I thought what on earth are the traffic wardens doing here.

Anyway turns out all the cagers were parked up and its bikers only
at the weekends. Gosh that guy was popular.

I honestly think he was happy with the positive attention he was
getting.

Makes a change that for once something goes in our way!!

Flash Mercs all have fancy alarm systems. Just stand there and repeatedly set it off.

Too be honest with you i think thats bang out of order. And id of been hard pressed not to mention anything to him. The cars there dont create any real problems. As the front next to the butty van is usually chocka with bikes anyway. Most of them park across the road if they do park up.

As far as im concerned its a public place and we as bikers have no right to stop people parking there if they so wish. They'd be stupid to anyway. I mean, if you park next to the bridge on a busy day you aint getting that cage out for love nor money.

Fuckin wardens Thumbs Down

Fenton.

Stopped going to Devil's for a snack. £0.95 for a mug of tea and £2.20 for sausage sandwich! Robbin' bastards given their minimal overheads.

Big D's is the place. Decent cheap food and good atmosphere.

If you are going to the bridge on a Saturday morning, the place for a butty is the van in a lay by near motorway slip road at Caton, run by two farmers. £1.70 for a bacon butty, 20p extra for cheese, mushroom or tomato on 50p for a drink. Bacon is home cured and plenty on the barm cake. make sure you get there before 1pm though, well worth the journey Very Happy

It's been a while since I was last there, but as I recall cars are allowed to park across the way and further up, just not in the bit directly up against the wall next to the burger van.

For this exact reason. They get stuck in there then knock over bikes trying to manouver themselves out. Far easier to keep the bikes in one bit and the cars in another.

Personally, I've only ever been there by car or train and as there is a huge car park in the field up the hill there's really no reason why there can't be a bike only car park at weekends. Makes sense really, stick all the extra tourist bikes you get in one place on tarmac, let all the cars park for free up the hill in the field. As long as the disabled are catered for, with a short walk to the "attractions" I see no problem here. As it's up to the local authority, probably Ceredigion County Council, I see no point in bitching about it, but then again car drivers in this country are steadily being turned into lazy bastards anyway.

Got to agree about the food prices but on a Sunday the Farmer sets up a rival van in the Field opposit and is a bit cheaper.
Reason the butty van is so expensive is they lease the van from its owner and the spot is leased from the council and then there is the 6 or more staff in there so taking everything into account it aint to bad

Never noticed the traffic wardens whenever I've been there, but then again if we go in the car we tend to park up in town and wander down.

The Cameras are well inside a 40 zone and if you are turning into the bridge from the South you should be well below 40 for the turn and the one from the North is after a very busy 4 way junction so it should be slow enough not to be caught.
Traffic Wardens where out at bridge today doing Cars and vans

Just a warning, to welsh coast users that theres now a mobile speed unit on the Machynlleth to Aberdyfi road, usually in Cwrt, on the stretch thats apparently a 40 zone, watch out for it.

Serves them right.....

They should have walked a bit and seen what restriction were in place.
Shame they didn't call the clampers or tow truck in to shift them.....
