Hi,

Took the exhaust of the zxr and one of the collets broke Sad

Would I get away with using chemical metal, or does it need replaced? Was thinking that if it was used as the one nearet the engine, then there would not be too much pressure on the join, but not sure.

Or should I just have patience and leave the exhaust off til I get it replaced?

Replace it with a new part and you'll have no more trouble from it. Bodge it up with chemical metal or something similar and you'll most likely be doing it all over again in the not too distant future.

I know which one I'd choose. Thumbs Up

The tube of chemical metal would probably cost more than a new one anyway. Wink

could be welded if you can find a welder.

Or as a bodge, get a big arse washer on the bolt on the broken side and see if that will clamp down the other side.

JB weld will tolerate up to something like 3-400C. I have seen mild steel headers glowing bright cherry red which happens at 600c.

=> New ones.

Sorry i meant as in a mate with one in his shed as a bodge.

He should of course buy a new one when he can.
