Is the hard drive IDE?
Does it detect it in Bios?
Sounds that the drive could be corrupt of the cable is not connected correctly. Open the box and check the cables going to the drive. ____________________ Current: 2019 Yamaha T7 -> 2015 KTM Superduke R | 2000 Yamaha R1 Past -> 2009 KTM 990 SM -> 2005 kawasaki ZX10r -> 2000 Honda CBR 600 FY -> 2002 Honda XLV 125 Varadero

I know its no use to you now but I have 3HD's. Two external ones one(250GB) for all my files as in downloaded music, films pictures and programs and the other one (750Gb) is just for a back up of the first plus a back up of my PC's HD.
Better safe than sorry. ____________________ Andy Sez....

Enter bios and there should be an option which will show you the hard dirves connected to your computer. ____________________ Current: 2019 Yamaha T7 -> 2015 KTM Superduke R | 2000 Yamaha R1 Past -> 2009 KTM 990 SM -> 2005 kawasaki ZX10r -> 2000 Honda CBR 600 FY -> 2002 Honda XLV 125 Varadero

Clunking and grinding noises under initial power up or when being accessed means time to get the data off..
Agreed the best is ghost to cloan..
I hear the version that is in Hirens Cd works well along with the other utilities it is bundled with.. Not that i condone piracy but someone mentioned it was available (v 9.2 latest) by torrent ..
