Starter solenoid.

Does it not turn the engine over ? If not you need a new one.

When he asks if it turns over, after the click, which is the starter motor engaging, I think. It's where you hear it try to fire up. So when your battery is flat, it turns over at a slower pace until eventually it's so slow there's no point.

Check the connections on your battery.

Try the electric start, try the kickstart with a slight twist of the throttle.

If this don't work, make another post.

Also, don't wire the battery connections up wrong or you will see a lot of sparks and may hear a pop. the Red wire is positive, black is negative.

EDIT: Just read your post: Hope it is the battery. Good luck Wink

Hi

It is the starter relay / starter solonoid.

All it does is provide power directly from the battery to the starter motor when you press the starter button. Small current through the button triggers the relay so the large current can flow to the starter (putting that current through the switchgear would give it a short life).

However sounds like the problem is just the battery.

All the best

Keith

I just had same problem on my Arilia RSVR 02, replaced battery no joy, appears the starter relay is burnt out and this is a common problem with Aprilia's. Ive got replacement yamaha relay for mine as its more robust and cheaper, arrives tomorrow so will let you know if it works.

Not sure if yam relay will work on yours though but have part number if you need it, fingers crssed its just the bat.
