Hi,

Following a threatening email that my boss got from a Big Hollywood Studio via his ISP, I am trying to install proxy IP software.

I tried Hide IP PLatinum but this caused conflicts with my outlook express. I have now moved on and installed PCMesh. This activates and says it has switched to proxy mode but when I check my IP address on the net it just comes up with my ususal static IP address.

I thought it would come back with the random one showing in my PCMesh or is that not the case?

Any assistance or recommendations for software, appreciated.

What about setting up your machine at home with Remotely Any ware. Have it listening on port 443. Then use dnydns and create your self a domain name. Install the update client on your home pc and set it to check and update every 20 mins (or there about)

Forward port 443 to your home pc on your router..

When you get to work connect to your dynamicdbsname:443 and you can control your desktop and do what you want...

As port 443 they wont and can’t check what you doing..

Thanks for the reply, not sure that is what I want.

I can remotely control my pc with logmein.

What I need to do is prevent people seeing that ip address ***.**.***.**.*** is downloading/uploading a torrent that would then allow them to see who the ISP is for that address and contact them to complain.

I need to be able to do it from home, not bothered about remotely. I only do small odds and sods from work.

Hmm... what makes you say they can't see what you're doing? depends what service you are running across 443. Razz |\|00813 Razz

Thinking
I dont recall saying I was at work. The only thing I said was that something happened to my boss??

My boss, who also likes to download stuff, has received a email from his ISP that was sent to them by New Line Cinema. New Line told his isp that ip address *********** (my boss's) was recorded as downloading a film of theirs and demanded that they cancel his account as part of their fair usage policy.

So I hope this simplifies it a bit. I am trying to prevent these type of people from spotting my IP address.

Oh, one last thing. I know what I am supposed to be doing at work. Thanks for taking the time to read my post properly. Rolling Eyes

Brilliant, I have gone 'off topic' explaining my own topic?

Does your care worker know you have access to the interwebs? Laughing
