I nod at dogs in the back of cars. Laughing

I do nod at most people, but not people on scooters, as they never nod back, and the majority i see are chavs in hoody + trainers.

Makes me feel good when i nod at people on big flashy bikes, and they nod back.

The first guy to nod back to me was riding a bright green ZX10R. Awesome bike. Also like to have a good chat with the staff in the local Hein Gericke, great people Smile

Why not nod at scooter riders? I don't understand this snobbery.

Didn't nod when I rode a scooter, Definitely won't nod now I have a bike. I think its almost nearly fair to say that most scooter riders are chavs. Looking forward to seeing them trying to keep up now anyways. Thumbs Up

I don't nod at moped riders anymore (unless I'm in a particularly friendly mood). They virtually never nod back, and I'd rather pay attention to the road than nod at someone who doesn't care.

I always nod scooter riders, nearly always get one back.

One thing I've noticed is that people tend to nod back more often if you do the "sideways" nod rather than just ducking your chin, probably because it's easier to recognise at speed/a distance. Worth a try if you're never getting nodded back Thumbs Up

More so, where should we draw the line - what about trikes (ugh), or more sensibly, bike engined kit cars, which are much nearer to what I like about bikes than scooters generally are?

I always nod at trikes (Rarely get one back tho Mad ).

I always feel like I should nod to outragously fast Megabusa / Blade / Birds (Or even Ariel Atom even tho not bike engined but still as fast as most 600cc sportsbikes) etc as they are obviously as much into the whole "Fast Acceleration Rules" mindset as I am, but never do as i don't think they'll nod back!

i nod to scooters i.e. vespas, lambrettas etc, as i respect them.

Peds on the other hand (peugeots, suzukis etc), i dont bother, because as said above, they just look confused when you do it, or they're just chav scum.

I passed my DAS last Thursday after riding a Maxi Scooter for the preceeding few months... I got home from the test centre, went straight to my local bike shop and took an SV (she is now mine!) on a test run.... Suddenly I was having to nod so much I though I was going to need a neck brace...

Go figure. I guess I have just joined 'the club'.

I drove a moped and a couple of dirt bikes for 2 and a half years and i never once noticed any1 nodding at me, ive bought my rs125 and i get them from all angles!

The other day i was waiting at a set of traffic lights waiting to cross at junction 13 on the M1 when i would say 30 bikers crossed the road in front of me, and i swear 2 god at least 20 of them nodded, tooted or raised a hand at me! I was felt soo weird that i didn't realise the lights had gone green and ended up stalling in the hurry!

I have nodded at scooters in the past but they dont nod back so i give up they dont know the code then. Most are in t shirts and track suits anyway. You get the odd older man on a vespa who nods. I had a moped once and did get nods maybe i was actually wearing the right gear for it.

hi all

just wondering if somebody is on a scooter and wearing leather motorcycle gloves, jacket, trousers, boots and a helmet would you nod to them cause i would just laugh

then your a fucking idiot.

i hate idiotic fucking bikers like you that blast around on there fireblades and hayabusas etc thinking there the ONLY kind of biker that counts.

Answer me this:

if im rolling around on my scooter at 70mph (yes it does do 70mph) and i fall off, Will my skin not get shredded simply because its a scooter? or does your skin only get ripped off when your on a "proper bike"

you Yan are a dick and so is everybody else that shares your posted opinion.

your basically saying that people who ride scooters shouldn't wear leather? why not? don't we deserve proper protection?

moron

I think it's unfair that they do not nod at scooter riders, we all start somewhere...

and as scooter and moped riders, we have a bad reputation as most drive ririculous. But we're not all twats. I nod at bikers, don't usually get a response.

I'll usually tend to nod at anyone, regardless of what they're riding.
The only ones I don't nod to are the numpties with no protective gear on.

the only reason I don't nod at any one on 2 wheels is if I don't see them in time
