Anyone know? Looked on the tyres and all they say is that the max speed is 150kmh!

I'll be lucky if the Scootay goes that fast!

Owners manual should tell you, or manufactures web site.
It can be different depending on what make of tyre you have on.

Tyre should have the psi on it. Check both sides

Usually only a maximum safe pressure, not a reccomended pressure.

The tyres on the transit van for example say 65psi max, but the actual pressure they should be is something like 45psi.

Never check the tyre for the correct pressure for your vehicle. As above it's only a "maximum pressure for that tyre" Most times this will be well above what's recommended for the vehicle it's fitted to.

The tyres on my CBR900 say exactly the correct pressure as they should be.

OMG not another muppet who's running their tyres at a billion PSI Laughing

That's the maximum pressure the tyre can handle.

A girl at work did that on her car, and wondered why she was shredding the centerline on her tyres in aroudn 1000 miles, and also why her braking was crap, when the wheels locked up all the time Smile

If you're running the bike on the standard tyres (as fitted when new) then pressure should be in owners manual. As stated the psi on the tyre is nothing to do with the actual value you need to put in there.

If you're running another make of tyre then best bet is to contact the tyre company. Ok, the values in the manual will be in the right ballpark but contact the makers if you want to be sure.

It's quite surprising how much difference a few psi can make to the handling. Always the first thing to check before any (expensive) suspension/damper modifications.
