what about a vfr/cbr 400 or something similar?
r6 will be a lot to insure as insurance charge you the same whether its restricted or not.

400s look like big bikes, although they are pretty low.
sound pretty good aswell.

my 400 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzgvUBqxk4g (note, the cam seems to amplify the tapping for some reason lol)

and without a can sounds awsome lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L12KZ7RlZ3w

kawasaki were the last people to stop making 400s.
think they stopped in 99, bu dont hold me to it.

SV650 seems popular for 33hp people

I wondered that, first bike at 18 an R6!

Then I looked at his name, with the modern use of numbers and text I realised its because he is a "RACER"

Don't know about restricting it but I am sure the insurance would be a killer at your age.

Get an R1 and 33bhp it. It'll look lovely, sound great and barely move.

im in a similar situation as the tc apart from the fact that im 20, i was going for a zxr400 but insurance is only £100-200 cheaper than an R6 and most zxr400's are imports which insurance companies seem to hate

an r6 for me tpft is at around £1000 mark, for tpft on a zxr400 was around £900.

Most 400's i went to look at, zxr's, cbr's and fvr's were all in pretty bad conditions compared to the 600's ive seen.

and lets be honest, 33bhp is more than enough for a bike in an urban area, i doubt you will ever get to use the bikes full potential on country roads let alone city ones.

Maybe look into a faired SV650s? Its a V-twin so more low down grunt and hence much happier restricted than something like an R6, plus they sound absolutely fantastic even when your not thrashing them.

Other more sensible and useable options would be stuff like the ZZR600 (Got one myself and I love it to bits, laid back, relaxed and very comfortable at motorway speeds, but wind it up to 8k rpm and it soon reminds you that its not far removed from a ZX6r), CBR600F (Less rev dependant than the RR) or a YZF Thundercat Thumbs Up

Hey , thats nonsense man i'm 17 and going to get an R6 at the start of next year , and insurance tpft is 900 mate , bikes are a passion , and in order to completely fill that passion you have to get what you desire and i want an R6 i am going to ride around on a Mito for a couple months and then go for an 2002 model , as for your performance stats ... wait for it ....... an R6 will hit 0-60 in the very low 4's if not 4seconds dead , racer if you need any other advice or help just give me a shout mate ... like on how to convince your parents lol ,thanks.kaz
